Christain Friend...Dukh

Re: Christain Friend...Dukh

I don't understand what one point has to do with another.

Anyway, why wouldn't you trust your friend, Christian or not?

I hope for peace and comfort for the baby and family.

Re: Christain Friend...Dukh

What the hell kinda parents would trust a care taker to bathe a 6 month old baby????????I don't know who is more to blame: parents or the Philipina. Although it is pointless to blame I know since it was decreed but still I think both the parents and the caretaker were negligent in this case. Unless the care taker is a registered nurse or something I would never have trusted anybody to bathe a baby this young.

Re: Christain Friend...Dukh

true i know but what can be done now. the baby is dead

Re: Christain Friend...Dukh

Very strange coincidence yesterday I was flying from Abu dhabi to Muscat and inflight I was reading city times dated yesterday. There was this american story of one 23 years old women who left the child alone in the bathroom out of the tub for a few seconds (her claim) to fetch a towel, the tub was full of hot water , the child was eager to get in the tub and climbed into it. The child escaped with 3rd degree burns on 75% skin area.

Re: Christain Friend...Dukh

omg no i missed this story. what a coincidence indeed OMG it freaky

Re: Christain Friend...Dukh

I AGREE with u cuz when they cut the chicken they dont say kalma..and the way they cut it, is not right...!!That's y it's haram!

Last yr, my math teacher brought "Brownies(i hope i speeled it right)" for us...when she started to serve..i thought that should i eat it or not?
I was thinking about it and i said to Allah that i dont want to eat it there were many reasons to it....so i asked ALLAH to help me so that i can say No to her. Ok i was thinkin that what reason should i give her....a girl in my class asked my teacher wht's the flavour and my teacher replied "COFFEE" then the girl said i dont want to eat it cuz it's Coffee n i dont like it...when my teacher came to me i said the same thing..and Thanked Allah that HE saved me...!
So i think that we should avoid eating thier food as much as we can!:)

Re: Christain Friend...Dukh

yep brwonies have all kinds non zabeeha meat, pork and alcohol in it :D

Re: Christain Friend…Dukh

Probably not, but they most definitely can have lard in it.

Re: Christain Friend…Dukh

and a simple question asking whether it has lard in it can solve the problem. Why focus on creatig artificial boundaries whe simple communication can help. I have taken things at work and ppl have asked me, does it have beef in it, or pork (questions by hindus and jews respectively), or lambs..some ppl dont eat lamb..u answer and they eat or they dont eat. someone was nice nuff t bring me some stuff from cipotle and I asked wheteher it had the black beans or pnt beans..pinto beans in chiptle have bacon in them, he said pinto, I gave my regrets and thanked him for his kindness.

Its this combative seclutionary stance that some in our communities exhibit that borders on paranoia and is indication of a rigid narrow perspective that irritates me.

There is no law against being civil

Re: Christain Friend...Dukh

i agree mr fraudia
but its easier in dubai as sharab is not available openly
because of it being a muslim country

Re: Christain Friend...Dukh

I absolutely agree with Mr. Fraudia.

The tone of the original question is troubling. As if a real friend would actually lie to you if s/he is Christian. Just ask and have some faith. All of my friends know what I can and cannot eat and it really isn't a big deal. Separating yourself from people who are different from yourself and expecting the worst from them is really detrimental behavior. It's sad that it is continuing.

Re: Christain Friend...Dukh

na i didnt mean it like that. i do trust my friend
Diya is my best friend! she knows what i can eat and not eat
i was just asking whether it was ok to even eat food without sharaab from a non muslim

Re: Christain Friend...Dukh

Can I interrupt this thread with a question?

...I understand the reasons why Muslims cannot eat certain things like pork or drink alcohol. But what makes the same kind of meat halaal or not-halaal? Its something to do with how the animal is killed? Or that a special prayer is said? Can a muslim make a non-halaal meat halaal by saying a prayer or something? Sorry for the ignorance but I am curious about this....
one further question....eating in the halaal way is very similar to the jewish rules of eating. But why can Muslims mix meat and dairy while this is very strictly forbidden in the Jewish religion? Really "kosher" jewish homes even have 2 stoves and 2 sets of dishes! The wealthier ones have 4 sets of dishes - 2 "everyday" dish sets and 2 fancy ones! Ugh! how difficult that must be!

Re: Christain Friend…Dukh

Why would it be a problem?

Mof3 – I’m not sure if a non-Muslim can do that by reciting a prayer. Zabeeha meat is dependent on the way it is killed and by whom because of the prayers that are recited. I’m not sure that it would be acceptable for a non-Muslim to recite those – but really, I have never thought about that, so I don’t know.

Re: Christain Friend...Dukh

oh ok i didnt know thats all

Re: Christain Friend...Dukh

if she said there was no alcohol in it....you can eat it out of good faith.

Re: Christain Friend...Dukh

oh ok i ate it.
btw once i accidently at chocolates containing sharaab

Re: Christain Friend…Dukh

oh please. never doubt a friend. or never accept anything from her/him. it’s either this way or that way & no other way to feel solid about your sense of rights and wrongs. Allah pardons if you realized you inadvertently did take it in, a lil bit of alcohol in cake, if eaten, in this context is not a sin. yes, if u became intoxicated with so much of it in the cake and hurt others or your selves, then it is diff. we’ve yet to see a cake that gets people g i d d y, so calm down.

time is up when it has to be up. comfort your friend at the loss of her/ his baby.

Re: Christain Friend...Dukh

thanks dushwari for you advice

Re: Christain Friend…Dukh

Its the way the animal is slaughtered, and that it should not have been slaughtered as on offering for somethign etc. Btw by religion eating meat from people of the book i.e. jews and christians is allowed. There are people who say that its no longer valid because jews and christians are not the same as they were 1400 years ago, to which i usually answer that muslims are not the same either  Thats a whole diff dicussion though.

a muslim can not make non halal meat into halal, unless they can put the animal together, breathe life into it and then slaughter it

Islam has no restriction on mixing dairy and meat.
