ok i have two things to discuss. i want to know that today my christian friend offered me cake and i ate it. i asked her before if there was sharab in it but she said no. so i ate it because i trust her. should i have done that? and secondly a very close friend of mine just lost her baby last night. it was just his time:teary2: in lillah hi wa ina ilayhi rajayoon
Re: Christain Friend...Dukh
Quran 5:5
This day are (all) good things made lawful for you. The food of those who have received the Scripture (ahle-e-kitaab) is lawful for you, and your food is lawful for them....
Re: Christain Friend...Dukh
ahem thanks so this means it was fine for me
Re: Christain Friend...Dukh
yes even i was about to tell you that its alright to eat the lawful things i.e. no pork work but chicken and all of the christians and the jews since they are the ehle kitab. and plus if you are unaware of anything unlawful (ingredient) in some recipes then its not your fault so you are still clean and forgiven.
secondly, in lillah hi wa ina ilayhi rajayoon - RIP baby... its sad but babies go straight in heaven so i guess theres something to be happy about.
Re: Christain Friend...Dukh
which day are we refering to?
Re: Christain Friend...Dukh
yeah i know but its still sad what happened to that baby
Re: Christain Friend...Dukh
the baby drowned in hot boiling water
Re: Christain Friend…Dukh
It’s not lawful to eat meat offerred to from Christians or Jews just because they are Christians or Jews. The meat still has to be halal. If you’re unaware of a certain ingredient, then you should not eat it, simply to be safe.
“The people of the book” reason doesn’t work in this day and age, when Christians no longer follow “the book”, and that the book itself is no longer “The book”.
Re: Christain Friend…Dukh
huh. what the hell were the parents doing?
Re: Christain Friend...Dukh
the parents were out and the baby was alone at home with the caretaker
Re: Christain Friend...Dukh
Did they sue the caretaker then?

i just said what i read in the quran - its not my own opinion since i myself dont eat anything unhalal or non veg until i am sure its halal.
Re: Christain Friend...Dukh
how the hell does a caretaker drown a kid in boiling water? did she leave the kid in the tub and the kid turned te hot water knob...scalded itself and then fell in water and drowned?
Re: Christain Friend...Dukh
^ HAHAHAHAHA
Re: Christain Friend...Dukh
No really, How else does a caretaker drown a kid, is it gross negligence or is it a murder? I can understand murder, but how exactly does a caretaker drown a kid in boiling water by mistake?
Re: Christain Friend...Dukh
carelessness, negligence, self centered people who leave kids behind while doing other stuff
Re: Christain Friend...Dukh
mr fraudia that is exatly what happened. the one in the post 13#
and yes it was negligence and they have registered a case with the dubai police
Re: Christain Friend...Dukh
I understand carelessness and negligence. I am trying to figure out what sort of sequwnce of events would have a kid drown in boiling water. a kid drowning I can understand, but drowning in boiling water is confusing
Re: Christain Friend...Dukh
even i cant comprehend that because i wasnt there but all i know is instead turning on the cold tap she turned on hot tap and stuff
Re: Christain Friend…Dukh
one has to be supercareful with stuff even if there is a caretaker. things such as settings limites on water heaters so they do not produce scalding water, putting knobs that a kid cant turn. Insisting that the caretaker bathe the child in a childs tub and only a few inches of water .. the kid does not need to soak.
Aisha I am sorry and saddened by your friend’s loss. Its tragedies like these that shock other parents into thinking what else they should be doing to safeguard their children.
