But Sindhi feudals are not from martial race. There ancestors were traitors of British era.

I was told by an old sindhi, that they were mostly funded by hindu bussinessman, and under their protection hindus had better life:D.
British compelled Chaparan peasants to grow only indigo through the help of local zamindar, a pundaa named ramchandra shukla brought mahatma to champaran and gandhi’s battle finally lead to end of Zamindars in India:(

From this Hindu- Muslim discussion, I remember that there were probably different chopals for Hindu- Muslims in mixed population areas. In Karachi there is a Hindu gym Khana and a Muslim Gym Khana :)

Because women don't need a place like otaaq. Two women can discuss things for hours by standing near the common wall of their homes. :)

I remember in my ancestral hometown, no women was suppose to even go near otaaq and if an outsider comes he is suppose to sit in otaaq and not bother coming into the haveli :D

Otaaq=Mardana, haveli= Zanana compartment :D
But that doesn't mean that there are no formal meeting places for women. Women get chances on many occasion like Shadi, Meelad, Qurankhani and even soyam, etc to chit chat. My sister tells me that women have this strange habit of discussing about clothes, etc even in soyam, etc.
One of our aunty, can read three para (not paragraphs) of Quran during a Qurankhwani in one half an hour and that while discussing all things with the other women. My sister notes the number of para she read and makes ensure that someone read them again :D

tell me about it, I have seen it happening everywhere, women just love to talk about their clothes/bags/shoes everything! :(
in my hometown, when we had shadi gatherings and all that, only immediate family men were allowed inside, like chacha, mama, or first cousins! ... we had this strict parda thing and you are suppose to cover your face when you are entering haveli, guards or men who are standing outside are not suppose to see your faces, infact they were suppose to go away and not stand closer to haveli gate, when the cars are entering the haveli! it was cool, because I can see everyone and nobody can see you! :D

I remember back in 90’s in one of PTV’s dramas they showed a mother encouraging her medical college going girl to marry her cousin from a village and on Purda issue, she said ’ Tumhare Abbu k cousin ne ek german aurat se shadi ki thi.. aur Maryana Gul burqa odh kar gaon main chalti thi’

I remember my Khala saying ' This all Purda warda is for middle class woman. Women from upper and lower class don't follow these restrictions' :)

UP and Bihar are two separate statesin India but both have same ethnicity, Urdu speaking community of Pakistan is mostly from this region:)
