Re: Cheese with Crackers
Did somebody mention cheese and crackers???
This link here will take you to cheese and cracker heaven…
Re: Cheese with Crackers
Well, lets start with the crackers, there are many types of crackers. To bring the flavour of cheese to the forefront, one can opt for simple water biscuits. These are just plain flour and water crackers, simple, crisp, bland, brings out the flavour of the cheese. I would recommend one spreads some free range organic butter on this variety of cracker prior to laying on the cheese, a lovely mature cheddar, or with brie and grape.
Now we move on to the more flavoured variety of crackers, some are flavoured with herbs, some with sundried tomatoes and onions or chilli etc. One can serve with soft cheese.
For a tempting cheese and cracker spread, I would place a variety of crackers on a wooden serving board, and arrange a variety of cheese such as mature cheddar, brie, blue cheese, a pot of cream cheese, a small dish of butter, some smoked salmon, a clay bowl of marinated olives, some sunblush tomatoes and a little bunch of grapes.
Then guests can select any cracker and top with anything they wish.
I do hope you do your cheese and crackers justice, it is not something to be taken lightly.
Re: Cheese with Crackers
Er, please, I beseech you, do not go for Ritz cheese crackers, they are a mockery.

Re: Cheese with Crackers
Ya know RH...I kinda like the idea of cheese and crackers now. I always thought you meant Ritz crackers and some squares of cheddar on top but I realize I was wrong and you take your cheese and crackers A LOT more seriously then that!
I might do that for my Italian night coming up....hmmmm...
