Don't get highlights or lowlights, have u're hair dyed in one color.. like a deep plum? Since u have very black hair..it will just "tint" u're hair and look nice.
Ive dyed my hair so many times I’ve almost forgotten what my real hair color looks like I’d suggest you to go with mehndi for a bit of a tint… I find jet black hair to be soo alluring… why would you wanna give up on that?? While your hair wont get damaged with just one coloring, i’d advise you to stick to what you’ve got… natural is (almost) always better!
As Riya said... I've dyed my hair so many times I almost forgot what my real color looks like! But recently, for the sake of my hair, I decided to go straight black again and keep it that way for a while.
Coloring your hair is a huge makeover, and done properly, can make you feel like a new person. I do recommend getting it done from a highly qualified colorist. Yes, they charge a lot, but it really is worth it. The color they can give you will work with your skin tone and the texture of your hair, as opposed to what you will be able to achieve at home. I've done both home and professional on various occassions, and have always found having it done by a professional just gives a neater, more complimentary outcome.
That being said, DO know that once you color your hair, upkeep is going to drain your wallet. If you thought it cost a lot to color your hair, wait till those roots come out in 3-4 weeks and you have to either re-touch or look ghetto fab, over and over and over.... basically until you decide to go back to your natural color.
Yes, it does damage your hair, that's definitely a con. If you can do a color that requires minimum re-touching, then the damage will be less and won't be so bad. Also, for upkeeps, you can try all-natural hair colorants that are sold at most all organic-specialty stores. Those have no amonia and are much better for your hair.
I wudnt use henna on my hair..it dries it out and the color doesn't penetrate the hair after it. For streaks and high/low's u shud go to a salon, for an all-over dye u can safely do it at home. Whatever colors u chose just remember to condition u're hair and use products made for color or "treated" hair after the coloring!
coloring is a vicious cycle and the growing out phase can be a total nightmare. i dyed my hair two years ago (to get rid of the blonde highlgihts from two years before that) and even though iv'e cut it so much, i still see the color at the bottoom.
I want to dye my hairs for a long time now but I can’t decide on what color…I have black hair and I want something like mixture of dark brown and maroon…more brown with little shade/reflection of maroon but I can’t find the exact shade that will just click…
what i love about hair is that damage can grow out!
i coloured my hair for 9 years and completely neglected it.
ofcourse it got quite dry but regular trims kept it in shape.
finally, in 06 i started growing it out (cutting off 8 inches the first time, and 4-6 the next few times)/
now all the colour is out and hair is back to its normal self!
Whatever you do, see a reputable stylist to make sure the color works with your skin color. I've seen so many desis lately who dye their hair blond or red or auburn and their skin color is pretty dark and it looks so awful and unnatural! (Some add the colored contacts too!) I just figure if blond hair was gonna look good on me God would've made me white! That being said, some pakistanis are very light skinned and blond, red or auburn hair looks really good on them, as it is natural for their skin color and then its ok. I'd look for naturaly occuring shades in my skin color range unless you are going off the deep end and doing purple or blue or something....
Please do a professional consultation at a proper salon before you actually color your hair. Often times the color on the box doesnt end up looking the same way on your particular hair.
Also, for wheatish complexions, I would suggest a dark burgundy brown. It looks very very nice for fall/winter.
I've colored my hair every and any color u can imagine..do whatever u want, just don't get it bleached =)
U know u're complexion best, for a sanwali complexion stay clear from blonde and ash colors...and stick to auburns, roasted browns, coppers and deep plums and mahogany's =) The hair dye's are safe to use if u're using it all over u're hair..it's streaking that needs attention and a salon!
hey gina but dont u have to cut the color first n then dye em..especially if u got jet black hair..is it possible to to dye em without the bleach n cut process that really damages the hair..i've had highlights done so many times n my hair got really damaged due to the bleach they use to cut the color..
The color "cut" is actually bleach and spoils u're hair =) She won't be getting her hair streaked so she doesn't need it..she's dying all of her hair in one color.
i do know one thing tht after u color ur hair..ur natural hair shine just starts fading..and fading and fading till thye look all fried...someone plz help me..i need my shine backkkkkk
i have never had my hair coloured and want to colour it in all one colour (blackest Black)
i have like three white hairs tht i wanna cover:bummer: plus the sun has made my hair brown, what i wanna ask is if i dye my hair will i end up getting more white hairs?
