Champion League

my analysis:

group A: Arsenal are clear favourites. By winning both their away-games so far, I think they have overcome what was lacking in previous years: there away form. Aforce to be reckined with in the next phase.
it will be an interesting battle for 2nd and 3rd, but I think that PSV are virtually out. also from the UEFA cup

groupB: Valencia and Liverpool, the pre-tournament favourites to proceed from this group will probably do so. although Liverpool have disappointed slightly

groupC: Real Madrid are clear favourites, not only in this group but to go on and win. second most probably will be Roma, not because they deserve it, but because the other teams are no good either.

groupD: Inter didn't do themselves any good, by losing at home to Lyon. will be a struggle for them to proceed. At the moment one of the tightest group; with Ajax and rosenborg both having chances too.

groupE: Juventus are virtually through. not only that, the way the played reminds me of the good-old days from 6 years ago, also with Lippi on the bench. they have the potential to match Real.
interesting fight between Feyenoord and Dinamo for second.

groupF: although not playing well in their league, Manchester have shown that in europe they still are among the best. slot number two is pretty much open

groupG: amazing run of Inzaghi (scoring 13 goals in 9 matches in the league and here) have made sure that Milan will progress. potentially the biggest threat to Real.
Deportivo are my favourites for number two.

groupH: Barcelona have the same story as Manchester, not that good in the spanish league, but in europe they're almost through.
hopefully Gala can make it as number two.

I am interested (being an Arsenal fan) of how far they can go.

Obviously REAL MADRID are the favourites
Man, Zidane, Ronaldo, Figo, raul, Roberto carlos to mention a few

Valencia also is pretty good.

I am hoping Arsenal can at least get to the knock out stages

Sorry if this is redundant, but just wanted to remind Canadian Guppies that TSN is airing the AC Milan vs. Bayern Munich match tomorrow at 2.30 pm (Toronto time).. For more info, you can check out here.

Agree! But having Seaman as their keeper I guess they won't make to the last 16

groupB: Valencia and Liverpool, the pre-tournament favourites to proceed from this group will probably do so. although Liverpool have disappointed slightly

Right! But maybe we will see a surprise when BASEL beats Valencia.
Liverpool dissapointed me very much last year so I don't wanna see a passive football in CL therefore I'll have to cheer for BASEL.

groupC: Real Madrid are clear favourites, not only in this group but to go on and win. second most probably will be Roma, not because they deserve it, but because the other teams are no good either.

Talking about dissapointments, Real has dissapointed in the last two away matches in the Seria A I just hope they can make more out of it this time. Yes Roma and Real to get to the next round

groupD: Inter didn't do themselves any good, by losing at home to Lyon. will be a struggle for them to proceed. At the moment one of the tightest group; with Ajax and rosenborg both having chances too.

I have always had something for Lyon I don't know why but seemed to me a nice team. Unfortunately great teams like Ajax and Inter are also part of this group, otherwise It would been easy for them to qualify for the next round. I predict that Ajax and Lyon will go through

groupE: Juventus are virtually through. not only that, the way the played reminds me of the good-old days from 6 years ago, also with Lippi on the bench. they have the potential to match Real.

Now Juve is one of those teams who have done quite well so far and since it used to be one of my fav. I will hope they reach the next round. Dynamo should be with everything else would be a suprise to me.

groupF: although not playing well in their league, Manchester have shown that in europe they still are among the best. slot number two is pretty much open

A weak start but a lengendary fight back by ManU and this is how we know them. A power foward team with a rather weak defence. I want Olympiakos and ManU to be in next round but this is more of a dream. Defnitely need BVB out!

groupG: amazing run of Inzaghi (scoring 13 goals in 9 matches in the league and here) have made sure that Milan will progress. potentially the biggest threat to Real.
Deportivo are my favourites for number two.

After a very weak showdown at Uefa Cup against BVB last years Milan has improved a lot. Not just Rivaldo is now a part of it but more over they re-gained their fighting spirit. I just hope they'll beat Bayern til they bleed!

groupH: Barcelona have the same story as Manchester, not that good in the spanish league, but in europe they're almost through.
hopefully Gala can make it as number two.

Gala is the only team that has been playing average football with success and let's just hope Barcelona can play better football in CL than in Seria A!

They played awful and did the same last session.
Some how they don't fit in the kingz class.

but my favourites are AC Milan, Real :k:

Milan played good football 60 mins, after that not even a single defender was visible to me at their own goal.

Man, NesCio i thought you been keeping this upright....you sleepy duck.
I think i gotta come back here to update some things..tsk tsk. :-P

I will keep you updated about the next round til then enjoy the Top Goal Scorer List.

Hey NeSCio, what happened to Feyenoord yesterday? :D

Darn, Ehsan bhai can you do something about that ugly table I have posted? I don't know how to.......

Yeah Feyenoord out, thanks god their play sux.
Shino :p :p :p

Feyenoord :crying:

STUPID brits!!! :smash:

Feyenoord is no more that team it used to be, not even when they one the UEFA Cup last year. Now they didn’t even qualify to defend their title.
I prefer Van Hoidonk (?) but rest are just waiste of time and mo’.

Although they didn’t play as well as last year, I would have Feyenoord in the next round rather than Newcastle.

Anyway the most positive surprise during this year’s Champions League has been the FC Basel. Althouth I like Liverpool too, it’s good to see “small teams” advancing and I hope they’ll do well in the next round too.

:k: to the Yakin brothers!

I'm glad that Bayern and Bayer keep quite this time very quite...hehe.

Well lets hope Real Madrid does it again. The MAGIC touch!
With Ronaldo they should be the most attacking club team of this year.
