Before introduction of ultra sound facility, there were some baRi booRhis in our culture who could tell a pregnant lady whether she will give birth to a boy or girl.
Have you heard of those ladies?
Were there prophecies accurate?
What kind of symptoms they used to tell the gender of ‘naya mehmaan’ (Please don’t confuse it with naya Pakistan)

Nausea in early morning… Girl.
No nausea in early morning… Boy.
Baby girl move early after 2 to three month conceive, but those movement are not intense.
Baby boy take time and expected mother will feel movement in 4 or 5 months.
Chinese calender is another level of gender detection … :rotato:

-if the pregnant woman had back-pains a lot, that meant she carried a 'boy'

i think it's made up of the two old English words:
mid = with
wif = woman [wife]
a woman who is with the wife [at time of birth]
i don't recall any...i think these are just myths. the possibilities are 50-50 so whatever you say about the gender of the baby, it will come true 50% of the time.

Many years ago, there was debate competition in India on the topic 'who is more disloyal / corrupt? Politicians or Journalists'.
Journalist side included Khushwant Singh and on politician side was then Information Minister Vasnat Sathe. Vasant asked Khushwant 'why journalists are bloodthirsty for politicians always trying to create difficulties for their rule?'.
Khushwant Singh replied, 'In old days, there was a tradition in Chinese culture. At the time of birth, the part of the baby where mother kissed, the baby would flourish in professions related to that body part. do, the baby was kissed on forehead, the baby would destined to be a philosopher.. If the baby was kissed near heart.. he/ she would become poet.. If hands then painter/ musician/ sculpture, etc.'. Then Khuswat asked ' these politicians who always want to be gummed with rule (iqtidar ki kursi), you can assess, where their mother have kissed? Our (journalists) mission is to kick that part to relieve people.

Boy heart rate is higher than Girl... 140BPM = > boy, if less than 140 BPM => Girl
