Here is an outfit made by Indian designer Manav Gangwani. He is amazing and I love his work. Here is an outfit I fell in love with recently…
^That’s not the back I want. Instead I have asked for him to fill it up with the kaam instead.
Now since I will be paying a good amount of money for this dress I want it to be perfect. I am torn between color choice. I have alot of suits that are already maroon so that’s out of the question.
What do you guys think?
Deep blue/Purple
Magenta Pink/Orange
Lime Yellow/Green
If you have any more ideas please let me know quickly!
I agree deep blue would look really good, i loved that oufit too.
karishma and kareena wore these other dresses that are just beautiful, ive uploaded them on my profile page.
The kaam is beautiful and the color red is beautiful-- but i wished it was not kinda pointy at the bottom and it falls too low-- mayb a choori darr or a ghararra with that kaam -- that wuldda been nice too-- it just looks weird from the bottom
I like this outfit, its very regal and "Mugal" looking. Its quite heavy so its perfect for a wedding. You can use the Kaam with a slightly more classic shape so that it will be usefull for a long time to come. Deep Blue, Deep Green woudl be nice, I'd stay away from trendy colors like lime green orange and pink etc...its a classic look putting it in a trendy color will date it for the future.
Hmm but what kind of contrast would go best with the deep blue?
the outfit is way too heavy and a bit busy as it is, i wouldn't do a contrast color- it doesn't need the extra bit of distraction.
navy blue and gold would be beautiful on its own.
are you going to get those little balls at the bottom of the churidar? those look like they'd be annoying.
emerald green or a deep navy blue or even a beige-gold will look nice... but not too much contrasting, maybe if u want have as imilar color/lighter/adarker shade as the piping but not a total contrast
i agree with some of the others here, its not a great/ unique dress, it looks like a typical indian dress, the embroidery, design and length of the shirt. ive bought so many indian dresses that almost come down to my ankles and some of my moms dresses look very similar to that. but since ur getting it, i agree with SGC the royal blue in itself with the gold embroidery would look great. you could also try a deep purple. both would look much better than the red/gold.
Well as far as length goes, I have asked for him to bring it slightly lower than my knees. The balls would definitely not be at the bottom. Instead he said he would give me a nice kaam around the bottom that extends slightly upward. It wouldn't be too heavy but it would look nice I was assured.
I see what some of you girls are saying about it not being 'all that" but I fell in love with this dress so intensely lol I love the way it fits her body and the way he creates his pieces is suited PERFECTLY to your body. As complimentary gifts, he is giving me a matching clutch.
Now all he is waiting for is color.
Royal blue/gold sound awesome. What do you guys think about peach or ivory?
I like the way it fits her and the look of the sleeves. If you're short, I think the full shirt of kaam will look too overwhelming.
I agree with others. No contrast. Rich jewel tones will look nice, like the royal blue or deep green. I think ivory or peach could work, but it really depends on the fabric and the way it works with the gold embroidery.
Im not a big fan of that outfit at all.. Although I do think if you customized it a bit it could work.. Although you're so gorgeous, you could so pull it off :)
Love the color combos you posted.. Did you make up your mind about what you want to go with?
