I think the Israeli Palestinian conflit is a truly sad one. We need to not be afraid to stand up for what is right and call what is wrong wrong! the deaths, the occupation, the harrasment of the Palestinian people is wrong. the numbers indicate them to bear the brunt of the violence more so then anyone else in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

A vaible solution has to btoh cater to the needs of the Jewsih ppl as well the palestinians people. the wiping off of 40% of a population can leave any minority group fearing for its existence. the reason why AIPAC and such rightest and often bigoted organizations/ agendas are able to survive is because they is a valid fear. The Jewsih people are afraid of extermination, and I think we as Muslims given our current state of affairs can empathize. therefore their fears must be taken into account, and efforts must be made to protect this vulnerable minority.
However, it must also be taken into account that in efforts to save themselves the Jewsih people inflicted immense violence on the Palestinian people, this must be recognized, to ignore it to hide it, to pretend it didnt happen, to deny it, is fool-hardy.
Neither the Jewish people nor muslims can afford to rely on European christians to solve our problems, or afford to hide behind thier skirts and continue to cater to thier interests in hopes that they will remain our allies. I think there is great potential for anyone, be they muslim, jewish , or christain to malign this probelm and take advantage of it. as is evident by how the Saudi regime (which is as dark and evil as the oil industry they sustain) often uses this conflit to thier advantage when things get heated up on thier streets, it is evident by how AIPAC uses to get funding to sustain the Millitary industrail complex (which is huge - and absolutely horrible for this little planet of ours), and is evident by our current regime (war mongering Bush administration) efforts to find any excuse to attack Iran.
We need to see past the ploys, put aside our patriatism, and think in terms of the global community. I for one do not want to spend our days fighting and killing, this planet and its people have so much good to offer, it is sad that we are not able to communicate with each other simply b/c of our bigotry and hatred, i htink if we could we would realize we are all the same, and that we have much to share and learn from the other.

First of all, Israel was created on areas which had a jewish majority, some jews came from outside but it was mostly due to the fact that after the british took over in 1917 hate crimes started against Jews.
