I can understand the link between the grandsons and the prophet, but there is just too much murky waters when you have twelvers splitting with ismaelis and both sides claim they have the true imams. People need to look past these imams (disappeared anyway unless ahmedinejad meant something last year ?) and focus on their deeds. The only thing that I found problematic is that many shiites I know have cursed people when they criticized them on something to the tune of curse on you for cursing ahle bayt (meaning them). SORRY but that is pushing it.
