***“******If you were in a moral dilemma, would you pick your heart or brain?”
I’m going to attempt brevity here. I think to truly and properly address this kind of dilemma requires both. Also I suppose to try and see the whole board as they say in chess. How many crazy people in history have said that they followed their conscience while massacring people, sacking cities, destroying literal relics of history, and just generally being horrible? I think we have to be careful that in our pursuit of morality we don’t mistake that very morality for self righteousness. Self righteousness is a monstrous perversion of ego and it loves to masquerade as morality. There’s a quote I’ve always loved: “except on that most primitive level, what could be more arrogant than to claim the primacy of personal conscience?” The head checks the heart. The heart checks the head. Both are needed. And when either is at odds either the other? You live out the confusions until they become clear as Anais Nin surmised.
A very interesting question dearest!

A few more from @LP :flowers:
***“Have you ever been bullied? If yes, how did you deal with it? If no, how would you deal with bullying if you ever were? / ******Have you seen someone be bullied? What did/would you do?”
Oh sure… I mean just walking down the street sometimes you get harassed. Very few things enrage me in life the way bullying does!!! I’ve taken to looking them directly in the eye and channeling Martha Plimpton in Music From Another Room “what? you don’t think we have brains” “I don’t think you have central nervous systems” :rotfl:
This ^ is basically me when I’m walking in the more seedy areas of Philly. I don’t get bothered in my neighborhood at all (the guys all know me, know Charlie, and would immediately come to my defense if someone was messing with me.) But occasionally I raise my mothers blood pressure and go into less than savory areas. I was bullied a lot in my marriage as well.
I’ve put myself in front of hijabis, women of colour, disabled people… If I see it happening, chances are I will deviate from my schedule and get all up in their business. If I see a woman of colour in particular who is by herself being pulled over by cops and I am able, I will pull over as well, take out my phone and film them. After what I dealt with in my marriage I don’t fear men. And 95% of the time when confronted, a bully will slink off to whatever dank hole he crawled out of. My general attitude toward them is “come at me bro.” Don’t mistake what I’m saying though. I don’t start off by antagonizing them. I usually calmly, respectfully attempt to address them but 9 times out of 10 a bully will view manners as a sign of weakness. You also have to keep in mind that conflict resolution is a part of what I do for a living and I’m really good at assessing risk in situations like this. My mother likes to tell me that I’m going to put her in an early grave.
***“If everyone around you told negatives about X(without proof) and asked you not to be friends with X, but you’ve never seen it yourself and X has always been good to you, what would you do?”
***I’d maintain the friendship, keep my eyes wide open, and depending on what kind of negative stuff we’re talking about, I’d have the friend round for dinner and ask them about it as gently as I could. I’m a big believer in second chances.
***How much of you do your friends and relatives know? (percentage wise)
A fair amount of the surface level things. Only my immediate family and a couple of very close friends know the knitty gritty stuff. I’d honestly have no idea how to guess the %.

I like how you deal with bullies. I see “That which does not kill us, makes us stronger" quote worked for you.
Re: Cafe interview Q&A : Fresh-Baked-Pie (Answers)
I so, so wish you would run for president. I haven’t come across a more socially intelligent person. I think you would rip DT a new one.
Re: Cafe interview Q&A : Fresh-Baked-Pie (Answers)
Okay fine.. I did not want to ask this question directly, that’s why i deliberately used this word church… I know religion is a private affair but i guess it will help us ( Guppies) understand you better. Whats your religion then, if you are not Christian ? Are you a Jew?
Re: Cafe interview Q&A : Fresh-Baked-Pie (Answers)
Finally got a bit brave did we… How long have you been holding this in man? ![]()
Technically speaking from an ethnic (and some might argue religious standpoint) I am both Muslim and Jewish. Let me explain. My fathers roots are Sunni Muslim and my mothers roots are Sephardic Jew. Jewish heritage is passed through the mother… Muslim heritage is passed through the father.
But my ancestral history or what I choose to believe at present has no baring on your understanding of me and my character. The content of my posts are a better judge of that.

***“If you are made to rule Pakistan, what will be your first order of business?”
Well for starters, I’d be looking to govern Pakistan, not rule it. This is not a monarchy! That is an important distinction!
And after having several very strong cups of tea and allowing myself a full day to panic, the first thing I’d do is, out of my own pocket, hire the best protective and security detail on the planet. Next I would systematically dismantle the existing, inept, corrupt, and thieving governmental elements currently in place from the top right on down to the lowliest administrative clerk (likely getting myself killed in the process, hence the security detail.) Stiff fines, penalties, and jailtime for the lot of them as their cavalier attitudes have been destroying the livelihood of Pakistan’s lower and middle classes for years; robbing people of their basic rights. I’d run the place like Giuliani did in NYC in the 90’s using the broken windows theory. Nothing else can be addressed until this happens and part of that dismantling will undoubtedly involve targeting the fundamental elements holding parts of the country hostage right now. Corruption is like a weed and must be killed at the root.
***“If you have to participate in “dancing with the stars” , which celebrity will you dance with?”
Oh my gosh… you know what… and you’re all going to laugh at me but I’d pick Richard Simmons. I think he’s adorable and every interview I’ve ever seen with him makes him come off as genuinely caring for people who struggle with their weight and health. He’s funny and doesn’t take himself seriously. We’d absolutely lose the contest because the masses want to see good-looking people dancing in that show and we’d be two weird looking misfits but we’d have a helluva good time before they kicked us off I think!
***“Can you parallel park without getting the car kissed by another subject?”
Yup! I hate driving but I can parallel park well.
***“A dinner with Donald trump or a evening with aliens on UFO? Pick one”
I’d pick Trump and then I’d make sure I had a secret and hidden camera to capture every time he embarrasses himself and makes inappropriate comments so I could leak it.
***“Jaime Lannister or Tyrion? Pick one”
Tyrion hands down.
***“Shrek or Donkey? Pick one”
Neither? I’ve never seen the movie… is a goat an option because then I could at least have it butchered and cook it for dinner lol
***“Pick one illegal thing that you’ll happily do”
Probably certain internet laws… without even thinking.
***“Your favorite halloween costume?”
***Well I’ve been trying to convince one of my friends to go as sexy Trump since it’s such an oxymoron but… any of these will do in the meantime: CLICK
***“Guilty pleasure?”
Historical period movies? Shakespeare? … ohhh you mean the bad stuff
Chapelle show. Bob’s Burgers. Rick and Morty.
***Tattoos, yes or no?
I’m pro body autonomy and believe that people should be allowed to adorn themselves in the manner they see fit.
***“You have got a way to time travel, which year will you go?”
June 28th 1914.
***You are driving and somebody just tries to cut you, how long before your middle finger gets up towards him/her?
I’m more likely to mutter or yell in my car than I am to making gestures.
***How long can you stay mad at someone?
Not long. It just takes too much energy and why would anyone put extended effort into such a non worthwhile thing!
Re: Cafe interview Q&A : Fresh-Baked-Pie (Answers)
@Hakuna Matata
***“When did you buy/get your first mobile?? which was it??”
19 and a brick… a relic if you will! (Nokia 3310)
“How many times do you see mirror in a day??”
I generally try to avoid them but I have a huge one in my living room, a tall one in my bedroom, and every bathroom in the house has them so I’m usually unsuccessful.
***“How many times you visit beauty parlour in a month??”
Twice a month for hair (deep conditionings), once a month for wax, and I don’t get manicures or pedicures because I’m too ticklish! What a funny question!
“Do you know how to ride a skateboard??”
You mean in theory? Sure… but I’ve never actually been on one lol
***“Have you ever been in a car crash/accident??”
Twice. Both were horrible. Neither was my fault and I was the driver in only one of them. There was almost a third time. If not for my sister intervening and preventing me from getting into the car as a passenger, I would have been impaled. I honestly owe her my life.
“What’s your top speed record in car??”
90mph? I don’t speed much!
***“How many times you got ticket/challan??”
I’ve never gotten a speeding or parking ticket!
“Longest holidays period away from home??”
***You mean away from my house? Usually over the winter holiday season. I’m pushing for the family to spend more holidays at my house. Or do you mean actual vacations that I go on? Anywhere from 3 weeks to a month usually.
Re: Cafe interview Q&A : Fresh-Baked-Pie (Answers)
I’m not US born and lord who’d want that kind of limelight! You have to have, at minimum, a touch of megalomania to even consider yourself for that position. I’d get eaten alive!

haha! many awesome cafés where i live. next time you come to Europe, let me know.
first words coming to mind on your answers here : endearing personality and openness.
its probably the most exhaustive and prolific interview on GS till date. PP you should prepare some award ceremony at the end of the year, we’ll nominate FBP in that category, i’m sure she’ll win hands down.
