heart beat - I've had trouble with my Dell and I know a few other people that have also had problems with Dell. It's a good computer but there's probably a reason they have good customer service lol.
I checked out the Sony Vaio and the Dell XPS M1330 and I liked the Sony Vaio much better. I really didn't like the Dell XPS's keyboard and the touch pad was way too small even though there was plenty of space to make it a little bigger. The Vaio was nice, but I'm afraid to take the risk of buying it in pink with the design without having seen it in real life. They only had the plain silver one at the store. =\
Phatima, I dont know how much you know about computers or notebooks.
Dell's old Series is not compareable with XPS series. More over comparing the XPS series with the Sony FZ is like comparing apples with oranges (technically speaking).
On the other hand the shapes and color might attract you, but I believe in 2 years time (with VISTA) you will need an upgrade. NOtebook upgrades are very expensive.
But If you need a notebook for only working on MS Office then I rather suggest you to buy any cheap one.
^ I explained about what I'll be needing in the first post. I don't plan on using Vista. I'll probably just stick with XP. I've tried out Vista and I hate it.
Seriously - Sony Vaios are overhyped pieces of junk. They just look good. I wouldnt trust them with my school work - especially with their horrible warranty care/customer service.
If you go with IBM, let me know - I can give you corporate discount.
ooo. corporate discount. =]
I always liked IBM's keyboard.
What should I look at? Thinkpad, Lenavo 3000, Ideapad?
I need something around 13-15 inches, light, good processor (2.3GHz+)..
Phatima, when I first received my XPS I thought the same, the touchpad is not wide enough and not even centered BUT I got used to it and I've been using it for the past 2 months for school work to gaming to business work. It's great! Also they give you an option of getting it in RED, $50 goes to charity if you select their RED option. (btw, I got it in RED, it's nice :D)
The specs are all up to you, just remember to get enough memory for Vista, I got 2gb and it runs fine. I hated Vista at first but I am in love with it now. Xp is out of my life.
