Re: Buying a new laptop - suggestions pls.

mine was fine*

Re: Buying a new laptop - suggestions pls.

oooo i love it! =]
So where are the speakers?
Are the touch-sensitive audio/play buttons hard to activate? I tried messing with them at the store and they didn't always work and it seemed like it took a while to change the volume from high to low.

Re: Buying a new laptop - suggestions pls.

they worked for me out of the box, maybe they were not active on the display laptop. the speakers are above the keyboard, under the screen.

Re: Buying a new laptop - suggestions pls.

hmm. do you have bluetooth? I'm trying to customize one online at the Dell store and it says there's a compatibility alert and I need to select a bluetooth option. But I don't want bluetooth =\

Re: Buying a new laptop - suggestions pls.

yes i got bluetooth with it, comes in handy for transferring of files to and from phones :D

compatibility issue? bluetooth is only an option as far as I remember.

Re: Buying a new laptop - suggestions pls.

Yea but it keeps saying compatibility alert compatibility alert and I don't have any other option selected that would require bluetooth =\

Anyways, did you get the Slim and Light LED display or the standard one?

Re: Buying a new laptop - suggestions pls.

slim n light? never gave me that option for the 15inch. but it's the high def one.

Re: Buying a new laptop - suggestions pls.

oh i'm getting the 13 inch. :@:

Re: Buying a new laptop - suggestions pls.

Sony don't do junk, its a reason they're a world leading electronics giant, they build quality, well designed products to last. I own 4 Sony products, a TV, dvd player, my laptop and speakers. They've never let me down and to be honest they'd even put some of today's new products to shame.

Re: Buying a new laptop - suggestions pls.

ACTUALLY, Sony does 90% junk. Almost their whole line is now contracted out to factories in Malaysia, Taiwan and China. Think you bought a Sony LCD? It's a Wistron LCD. Wistron what? Exactly. You're better off buying a Sharp for half the price (which coincidentally also produces Sony LCDs).

Sony has got their marketing down pat and brand crazy like you keep them afloat. I've got Sony at my house but I'm not afraid to say that it's all hype. There are much better products made by less-cachet brands. The alternatives are more reliable and they also cost less.

In conclusion, Sony computers might look good but reliability issues will make them useless decoration pieces.

Re: Buying a new laptop - suggestions pls.

I agree. Although it's the brand that sells, i think Sony has for its part proven to be a trustworthy name when it comes to electronics.

Some prefer other brands, which are sometimes just as good. The only thing with Sony is the cost that serves as a drawback i think.
