did i just see a tear in kerry’s eyes? ![]()
I forgot another biggy.
Longtime DEM Senate Minority Leader booted out of office. !!! :k:
This above fact, combined with the loss of 4 Senate Seats, will probably help reduce the likelihood of DEM filibuster.
You still don’t get it UTD. The DEM party under the liberal Pelosi/Daschle/Kennedy/Kerry wing does not represent the majority of the American electorate. If the DEMs keep filibustering and blocking legislation and judicial appointments, they will lose MORE Senate seats until the GOP has a filibuster-proof majority.
Harry Reid will probably be a better Senate Minority Leader but only if he brings the party back to the center. This means learning how to play nice and make friends with your more powerful neighbor.
As long as the DEMs continue deluding themselves into thinking that the American people voted wrong in this election, they will continue losing. It’s not the people who are wrong. It’s the DEM party that is wrong. PhoenixDesi put it quite nicely when he said the “Democratic party needs to have a long hard look at its agenda.” I usually have absol;utely nothing to say positive about James Carville because all he ever does is spin. Last night, even he stopped spinning. He just hung his head and acknowledged that the DEMs need to go back to the drawing board.
I dont even think that ppl like you, MyVoice have a proper standing to neither Neos nor moderate Christians, its more who is buddy with Israel and who will have more blood to shed of Muslims.
Isn’t this the very cause you stand for?!
Don’t feel hurt, It was meant very personal!
This is the most interesting and important election since Reagan in 1980.
If the economy picks up in the next few years, 2008 could be a far more sweeping conservative victory. Conservatives now know the power of "turnout", which has been a Democratic strength.
Kerry is still boring the crap out of me.... He may talk for ever....

No wonder, after all he has something to say.....more than just "We'll smoke em out!"
just as predicted..
the Noora Kushti is over.. people think they had a choice and are now being given sugar coated pills of 'democracy' and 'mandate' etc..
I think it's for the best.. in four more years the 'moral' idiots who voted Republican will also join the jobless.. maybe then they can feed themself on their morality.
The Dems are NO different guys.. the sooner we get it the better.. they posed NO real challenge to Bush.. the so called 'liberal media' has been pliant all along.. NEVER EVER pointing out the reall dirty linen in the administration's closet.
Kerry couldn't wait to concede defeat cuz that was the plan. He's fullfilled his purpose.
Now if the country goes down the tube we'll have another elitist Hillary Clinton take over in 2008.. as if it's a 'change'.. if not.. any Republican can continue.. bottom line.. it's the American people being fired from jobs, deprived of health care and falling into poverty every day.. the elitists are just fine with their tax cuts and exemptions and subsidies.
As for the 'moralists'.. i guess they kinda have a right to elect their government as most military recruitment is also from their states.. I suggest the trend is encouraged and more born again christians are recruited to fight Emperor Bush's wars.

idiots never learn...
Glad to hear you’ve decided to stay here in the US rather than hang out in some mosquito mesh covered hut for the next four years. Welcome home brother. ![]()
On to Predictions.
-
We will unleash the full power of our military to defeat the insurgents in Iraq. Kid gloves come off and the fighting will be fierce. Bush will not allow the insurgents to be a festering sore for the next four years.
-
The rest of the world, most importantly Iran, Syria and NK, knows that they can’t just sit back and wait for time and “regime change” to dismantle US resolve to win the war on terror and enforce nuclear non-proliferation. This makes it more likely, not less likely, to achieve peaceful resolution to our serious differences.
-
The DEM party, without Daschle and with Pelosi and Kennedy moved to the sidelines, will become less partisan and more inclined to compromise and work with the President in adopting a domestic agenda.
-
Tax custs become permanent. Economy booms.

Rudy Guilliani will have a place, and might make a good replacement for Powell, or Ashcroft.
[/QUOTE]
I agree that Guilliani will get a position, but, I think he will replace Tom Ridge...DHS.

any timeframe on when this vodoo economics starts working? it's already been four years! and historically there is no precedence of it ever working..
I am surprised that Bush hasn’t announced the military draft. Oh well may be tomorrow. He will eventually do it. Let him celebrate for few days.

Where have you been? The tax cuts already have our economy chugging along quite well thank you. Further, historically speaking, tax cuts ALWAYS provide economic stimulation. It worked for Kennedy. It worked for Reagan.

Very possible, but that is not much of a plum job, nor a springboard to a Presidential run if that is what Guilliani wants. The DHS is pretty much a hair pulling exercise, lots of infighting and turf. The good news would be that Guilliani has the personal weight to make this job work. Secretary of State would be a much better World Wide experience.
I think the shake-ups will be substantial, as a signal to Europe that Bush II is not stagnant. I also expect Nixon like-entres to India and China. I expect lengthy state visits to India once Kashmir is resolved, and probably China before this. Two huge countries that look like big Japan's 30 years ago. Also two countries that have energy needs similar to the US. This would be monsterously bad for Muslims, and would be seen as Moving beyond Europe to more fertile grounds. An Asian initiative may be the next step for Powell, stepping down from SoS, and more as a Special Envoy.
its not the republicans fault that democrats cant figure out who they are and what they have to offer to america.
I have seen many democrats support Bush this time just because they did not trust kerry, did not think he would bring anythign different as he has been an insider for too long and does not really have a stellar record in govt.
people who voted for republican candidates can not apologize to the supporters of the democratic candidates for voting for the better option as they saw it.
Kerry did not stand for much. His legislative record is unremarkable. He was the anti-bush. This is not enough to get you elected. Most of the "platform" was new to Kerry, not things he had thought of as a Senator.
The Democrats need a new and appealing set of ideas.
more importantly, edwards proved to be totally useless - he dint deliver any southern state as was hoped. gephart would have been a better choice.

Yeah that’s what you were wishing for and pretty soon your wish will come true. Bush was avoiding a major strike in Iraq due to the fear of criticism before elections. Now I won’t be even surprised if he nukes the whole city of Fallujah.

I hope not.
There is something about Guilliani I just don't like.
Not sure what reason I have to dislike him.... just something about him.
If he gets an appointment I hope it's nothing better than an Ambassodor to some such country or the other....like..
Special U.S. envoy for the Sudanese region of Dafur.........

At least I finally agree with part of something you said. I believe Bush and Allawi delayed dealing with Fallujah until after our election for fear of criticism. Won't be any nukes though. We don't need them. I doubt we'll even use a daisy cutter.
LunaticCalm does bring up a very valid point as to what went wrong. I wrote sometime ago that Edwards was a bad choice because he came out of the Senate along with Kerry. Generally, Senators don't become President. Kerry further handicapped himself by choosing another Senator instead of balancing his ticket with a governor or a member of the House. As a first term Senator, Edwards had no built up political chips that he could call in to obtain support and couldn't even deliver his home state.
