CRAWFORD, Texas (AP)–U.S. President George W. Bush said Saturday that Pakistan’s president has taken “positive steps” by promising to lift the state of emergency, step down as army chief and hold elections.
Bush continued his administration’s approach to the crisis by refusing to pointedly criticize Gen. Pervez Musharraf. Bush dodged a question about whether Musharraf’s moves, seen by many as an attempt to cling to power, are distracting from the battle against al-Qaida in Pakistan.
“I vowed to the American people to keep the pressure on them (al-Qaida). I fully understand we need cooperation to do so,” Bush said after two days of meetings at his ranch with the German chancellor, Angela Merkel. “One country we need cooperation from is Pakistan.”
But, he added, he has confidence in the commitment of Pakistan’s leadership to stick with the U.S. in that fight. “We share a common goal,” Bush said. He said he still trusts Musharraf, saying the Pakistani leader aligned himself with Washington after the Sept. 11 attacks and has not given Bush reason for doubt since. In fact, Bush said, several al-Qaida leaders have been brought to justice “and that wouldn’t have happened without President Musharraf honoring his word.” “I take a person for his word until otherwise,” Bush said. “He made a clear decision to be with us and he’s acted on that advice.”

To destabilize our countries present situation is very appreciative. Bush declares himself GOD, no one considered him as one. His war on terror is as fraudulent as is his so called love for Mushy.
Given the present situation, I'd rather take a bullet before having to cheer for him and/or his puppet.

Who said I lived in the states? My freedom of speech and expression on present situation as well as my political stance. I can make good use of 'em, while living abroad. In Pak I would have been put under house arrest or would have disappeared once and for all.

You can say whatever crap against Pakistan and your "abroad" government will allow you to do so.
But the moment you started anarchy against your host government, you will be watched 24 hours, and if suspected promptly picked up.
Even now people of your color / religion / ethnicity are under watch anyways. So don't give us lectures on constitutions and freedom for anarchists.

Everybody who thinks Bush/America appreciating Pakistan is some achievement/great-thing... you guys talk about history all the time, now lets go back and compare American statements about Pakistan, how America has treated Pakistan in past.... why would it change now? If that doesn't open your eyes then I don't know what will.
