What’s her name again? She’s always got beautiful Bunto outfits, I remember reading about her before, she’s the daughter of someone wealthy but I forget who she is. She’s really pretty!!
Actually all the women look related! And the woman in royal blue is the sis in law or something for thr one in mustard? They look very glamorous!

all the girls are sisters... the father in the middle... fathers name is Aslam, his youngest daughter's mehndi is where the pics r from..
the girl is yellow in mubashara, shes the daughter in law of bahria town owner malik riaz... love her outfit

I thought Sharmeen's jora didn't look good at all in pics but looked good on camera while she was on stage. However, the fitting was too loose and left a lot to be desired but maybe Sharmeen preferred it that way?

Don’t hate me for saying this but I wish it wasn’t sleeveless because I don’t want people to associate westernization = showing more skin, being a more educated muslim woman = wearing non islamic clothing. And let’s be realistic who are the people that throw acid on a girls’ face? Uneducated barbaric men and fanatical muslim men. So I feel like if she would have worn an outfit that had sleeves maybe some of those ultra conservative people would have more pride that she is representing pakistan and that maybe they too should educate the girls in their villages more and that with educating girls they would still be able to maintain a strong islamic identity that many of those kind of men are afraid of their daughters losing.
Those sisters are such fashionistas! Love everyhing about them from their clothes, to jewellry, to make up. Surprised at least one of them didn't become a famous designer.

the kind of men who throw acid on their wives/daughters/sisters aren't likely to be watching the oscars or caring much about her work, and also, they don't do it because they are afraid the women are losing their religious values- they're doing it because they're sick, perverse, uneducated animals. and its not just the men. one of the women in the story had acid thrown on her face by her husband, while his sister poured gasoline over her, and his mom lit the match. the issue is much deeper and more horrific and goes way beyond sharmeen choosing to wear sleeveless clothes. those people wouldn't have cared if she was up there in a full-on burqa.

^ True! The ultra conservatives would have a problem with her making this documentary, flying to Hollywood and walking to the stage with a na mehram man! The mentality of these men will not change with this documentary. They need to be educated which the feudal lords would never allow but that's a whole different topic.
I think her dress was very decent and I don't even wear sleeveless!
