Bridal & wedding shopping

Re: Bridal & wedding shopping

why couldn't you try to lose weight? and i gave my measurements for as i am now because taking it in is not such a big deal. putting on weight is a big no-no for me- then i'd be in trouble! but also, i must admit, i have heavy upper arms (thats where i pile it on first) but i deliberately made my mehendi gharara sleeveless and my shaadi lehenga with short 5" sleeves so its a HUGE motivator for me to work out and get them into shape.

p.s: i've lost 7 8 lbs so far! yay for me! :)

Re: Bridal & wedding shopping

^ Well my dad was doing all my shopping, and I had given him a kurta and shalwar that fit me PERFECTLY. So I didn't want to ruin those measurements.

And here, it's not so easy to get stuff taken in. First of all I have to deal with my mom who will NOT believe me when I say I look like **** (sorry if I feel i look like it it wont matter WHAT you say) and second of all there's no darzan here and third of all, dad came back here abt 10 days before the wedding.

Re: Bridal & wedding shopping

oooh 10 days before- yeah thats cutting it close! theres darzi's in toronto, thank goodness!

i have to say, your dad's awesome for doing all your shopping!

Re: Bridal & wedding shopping

^ eah well ther was no other alternative, it's not like I could skip the semester and go (I soooooo wish I cud've :() and my mom had to stay here with me...so that just left my dad. but he has good taste so I wasn't that worried :D

Re: Bridal & wedding shopping

I had my wedding dress done from HSY three years back...its was deep maroon farshi lehnga...with organza dupatta...work on lehnga was really very stunning ans sofisticated. I never liked to wear THE TRADITIONAL GOLDY WORK..so i got it dsigned fo rme by HSY and it was superb.. I loved It.

Fitness instructor advice: I dont know if u have classes where u r but i wud highly recommend u doing a bodypump class. Within 6 weeks u will see results and its proven u get quicker results doing a pump class 2-3 times a week as opposed to doing free weights in the gym. I guarantee u, ur bodyshape will change and i can say this im a bodypump instructor. Good luck:D

Re: Bridal & wedding shopping

Hi everyone,

I’m sorry if i have put this in the wrong place, but i need some advice ASAP!

I’m off to Pakistan in a few days to do all of my wedding shopping. I just want to know, from experience where do people think it is more worthwhile to shop for bridal outfits - Islamabad/Rawalpindi or Lahore in terms or variety, design, time they take, price, quality? This can just be an area that you think is best, not necessary particular boutiques. This is the first time I am going to Pakistan and will be visiting both places but don’t really know where to start and I need to get everything within three weeks!

The wedding outfits are most important, but as well as that, where are the best places to get:

  • formal and party wear
  • men sharwanis
  • gold jewellery
  • accessories - artificial jewellery, shoes, bags
  • wedding invitations
*]dood pilay glass, mehndi plates, trays etc.
All advice will be very much appreciated! So far I have picked up loads of tips from other threads so a big thanks to everyone and sorry if this repeats anything already covered!
