What a wedding....and a beautiful couple mashaAllah...hope they always stay as happy as they look!! ...
seeing all those dollars given away at the joota chuppai...makes me wonder what this guy does for a living ..:P
was recently talkin' to this Romanian friend of mine...and I was pretty amazed at what she told me about their weddings...she said that they always have huge weddings and they spend aa lot on everything...but like SGC said... the relatives and friends are so generous...that the money the bride and groom gets not only cover the wedding costs but sometimes they get enough to get a down payemnt for a house or enough to get a new car...
our customs are so messed up... ur parents or you can end up spending ur lives savings and people will still back talk about things not being perfect.... Sad really!

The wedding was very nice. Pictures came out wonderful but it was really not out of this world. The details were nice and the ceremony looked very organized. If anyone's seen SGC's wedding pictures, I must add that the colors and elegance of her wedding was marvelous.
Anyhow, the couple looks very happy and Allah willing will remain so.
However! Truth be told, I can't get over how spectacular the Baraat venue was. Gotham something in NY I believe?

Yeah that is kinda sad :( i've never been to a non-desi wedding s i cant' say if htey're more generous than desis when it comes to gifts etc.

Gotham Hall is nice…but Valley Regency looks very elegant!

i love both venues too... so amazing. and the decor for the mehendi with the hundreds of moroccan lamps hanging from the ceiling! wow. i really like that idea. but good health insurance or not, i'm sure it'll cost a ton of bills in toronto too! :p

lol..add more bills to make it more impressive. the more the better ofcourse. but i didn't just like the the AMOUNT of money in the bundles, i liked the idea of handing out actual bundles. it's so much more fun than getting 20 or 50 dollars the next in an envelope. that's what's happened in all of the weddings i've been to so far. so boring.

MARWAH- i agree....it is a better idea, of making them singles, and giving them out, at least it seems like a lot, lol, it can maybe fool the girls, if you put a a few $50 bills in the front.....
