^^ it is nothing strange… many people do that. Actually I was watching Ace of Cakes and they were making a wedding cake made out of cup cakes.
At the end of the day it really doesn’t matter if you had cup cakes or a cake. $1 bills or $100 bills for juta chupai… what matters the most is that the couple is happy and sincere with each other.

cupcakes are deeelicious! and easier to eat/serve than a traditional cake sometimes. its a pretty big trend in toronto.

they did have a cake on their baraat. and they had cupcakes on the valima. i might have the same thing. i definitely prefer a nice cake over cupcake stands though. some cakes are just so gorgeous. god..i wish fondant didn't taste cement, it makes cakes look so nice!

i know the wedding dress is nilofer's cos shay had the same dress for her nikkah but in her own color choices and she got it made through the designer, and it was equally gorgeous.

LOL i finally saw the slide show and i am so glad i did. Lovely wedding and a truly gorgeous couple, both of them MaashaAllah. I esp loved the white dress she was wearing for walima.

loved the pix from the slideshow.. i thought that the bride could have done a little more makeup on the baraat.. her family had more makeup on than her.. nonetheless she looked gorgeous!

Naahh…I’ve seen the photographer’s work. His lens and developing are excellent. Its really her makeup. He’s snapped similar photos with similar angles and I can’t see pores or unevenness in skin tones.
In fact, in some pictures I want to pull her aside and slap lipgloss on her. lol!

i think she looks fine. you don't have to slap it on to look beautiful and cover up every single imperfection. she's a very pretty girl and she's enhanced her natural beauty.
personally i prefer that to the brides that look scary next to their husbands with all the makeup - even if it's done 'naturally', considering the groom isn't wearing any (hopefully!) it don't sit right with me to have it caked on.
