try having a trial at nabila's since that place won an award recently at lux awards
try Sab's and Cistre as well....someone said on this thread how Cistre treated its customers nicely

she charges like 18000 on the weekends and 15000 on the weekdays!
my cousins got married just recently and had her makeup done by shaheen....looked very pretty!
but i would say choose her for the barat day cuz shez good with shades of red....and go for bushra at nabila's for the walima....

i havent seen the pics yet b ut my freind got her makeup done at shaheens 2 wks ago and she said it came out really good and she liked the whole makeup but she said they were not freiendly at all and she didnt answer any of her questions! maybe it was just that particular girl i dont know the name....but i guess thats to be expected in most places in pakistan no one there is friendly or has any idea about customer service.

ive booked wid akif ilyas for da barat/nikkah makeup:halo: n photoshoot he is charginf 25k for da makeup n 20k for da pix:hoonh:
for valima my in-laws have booked beena khan im not sure about pricing, my sister in law got her nikkah makeup done dere n was pretty satisfied.
shaheen ive heard does a great job, dun know abt da attitude:snooty: but da makeup is good.
as for akif ilyas ive personally just spoken to him directly on da phone n he is really friendly.
and da details ill post for u guys after my personal xperience at both places in dec dis year 
n im still confused abt da photographer for event coverage

i havent made my makeup appointments but i've got the photography part covered...i had a cousin who got their photography done from Studio9 and i loved it...so i am going for it....
they quoted me 95,000 for mehndi, shadi and walima(portraits, videography, photography,8rolls in all)

I am considering shaheen saeed and nabilas...but then i heard Shamain is really good too....so I am really confused...dont know which one to go for? any advices?

a friend of mine had her photoshoot at studio 9 last summer, but their system crashed so she didnt get even a single pic... cant blame studio9, that can happen at any studio..i personally havnt seen dere result.. and where ever u get da pix tell them to have a backup :|
shaheeen is one of da best, so is nabilla but again it depends what type of look u want for ur wedding... akif ilyas takes 1 bride per day, so he does it all by himself, and basically he is a fashion photographer n makeup artist.. his website isnt working.
my friend was suggesting jimmys for da photos n movie... i saw a few pix by munna mustaq in da brides n u magazine, looked amazing.. they r all charging da same 90k-150k
oh btw what color is ur wedding outfit?

Studio 9 is giving 8 rolls for 3 events- that sounds a bit less, even family members end up taking more pictures than that for 2-3 events. And If they are shooting film rolls, how did their pictures disappear if a computer system crashed?

well! i dont want to go for the really heavy look...on either day...like not too traditonal...i personally dont think everyone can pull it off...atleast not me...hehe
and shaheen saeed is famous for her really traditional makeup that's why I am a bit concerned...what if I book her and then she wont lissen to me at all...
I have heard good things about Jimmy's and also Hakim Sons....my cousin recently got her engagement photography done by hakim sons....but i wasnt too fond of it....depends on one's personal taste....so I would say u should probably contact a couple of them....and maybe ask them to email some sample pictures so you could get an idea....cuz afterall...if u are paying that much...it should be worth it...
and i stayed with Red! just cuz i think it would look good on me :P wat colour is yours? wat about the walima dress??

my barat day dress is red aswell, i want a traditional look on da barat day, though i wouldnt have minded a maroon outfit, but my mom liked this really red lehenga. the jewellery got a bit too heavy, da original thing was a ok size around 12tolas but our jeweller said he would make it a 15tola thingy, but in da end he made it a 22tolas... its huge :(
so wid a red dress n such heavy jewellery i wanna tone down make up, last thing i need is a red lipstick :P i had seen a bride by akif ilyas, he had given a very soft peachy look wid a red/white combination dress, looked nice.
ive heard he asks a lotta questions(abt da groom) n then creates a look, made dat gal look really young n all wid da peachy effect cuz her hubby was baby face type ..
if u recieved any of da portfolios from da photographers pass them to me aswell :D

i got mine from lahore (think pink)...
my valima dress is gonna be a farshee a combination of lite and dark purple, they r getting it done from shahla rahman from unbeatables in karachi... but thats gonna be done in october... da makeup appointmnets for da valima r wid beena khan.

I had my bridal pictures done by Studio 9. Their studio pictures are beautiful, the videography was alright and I was disappointed with the number of pictures they took for the wedding. 8 rolls for 3 events really isnt much. I remember my husband's family hired another studio and their pictures were a lot clearer and more fun and provided a LOT more pics. But then again the video they made wasnt that great and they didnt have a studio option at all.
Between the two studios and the 10 fam/friend cameras that were clicking, we came up with lots of pics but I would have been really upset if Id relied solely on Studio 9 for the pictures.

but studio9 does a lot of photoshop effects, actually majority of da studios do dat dese days, killing the real look...they make it too fake, n everyones portraits r monotonous :| very disaapointing!!
dese days dere is a typical all b/w pic wid either da jewellery golden or da dupata red :S
n da other b/w wid da colored reflection in da mirror hehehe :D but its no fun when everyones album has da same poses! :(

22 tolas!! wow...i m sure its huge....how come u got ur dresses made so quick...it must be sucha relief......i havent gotten my dresses yet but they are lookin around for them...but my cousins got their dresses from either jabeens or rizwan moazzam...so i have given them ideas about the kind of dresses i want for each day...and that's wat they are ordering...i just hope i like it when i see it....
for the shadi....it will be deep red...farshi gharara...jamawar with copper tone kaam on it...i saw someone's dress like it...and looked amazin'....
for the walima...it will be a shade of peach with dull golden and silver kaam....jamawar georgette....
i kinda worked around the jewellery options...i could either get a big gold set or a couple of small sets in different designs...i am sticking with the small sets...i am getting like 3 sets...5 tolas each...cuz then u have more options to wear....the big sets are kinda like one time thing....and for the functions...i am getting big chandi sets in gold kinda designs and gold plated....they look totally gold like...no one can tell them apart....but for some people...its important to wear gold at their wedding...my inlaws got me a big set...n i guess i mite have to wear that one...i'll decide once i see it...hehe
wat u are telling me about akif ilyas sounds really good...do u have his contact info? i called shamain last night and she said she would charge me 25000 for a sunday...i heard shez too good maybe thats why shez charging so much...i mite go for her on the shadi day and i ll check akif ilyas and nabilas as a walima option...
