HI guys, i'll be getting married in december07 INSHALLAH and i was think of getting my makeup done from shamain. I have not seen any of her work but i have heard she's very good. If any1 has gotten der bridal makeup or valima makeup done form her can you pretty pleaseee send me some pics. I really need to see her work. plz email dem on [email protected].
my cousin got her makeup done from there and she looked really classy and beautiful. this was seven years ago. shamain is very particular about the way she does things; you might sense a bit of attitude, but she's good.

would by any chance have pictures of any other brides who've gotten their makeup done from Cistre ...that is if you dont feel comfortable showing your own :).....I really want a good make-up job for my wedding......do you know if they do good smokey eyes for weddings? HOw much does Cistre charge?
My best friend's cousin got her barat makeup from cistre n she was looking very pretty.:-)
Who to Choose for Bridal Makeup!
Hi guys...i am new to this forum n want a suggestion from you guys! Im living in US but getting married in Karachi next year. I am having a hard time choosing between four salons to do my bridal makeup for the wedding day. I am confused over whether to choose Shaheen Saeed, Dupilex, Sabs, or Rubina's. My friend and a cousin are going to Karachi to get married in Dec and they have booked Shaheen Saeed for the wedding day and they dont have a clue how her make up is...they just know that she is good. I DO NOT WANT TO TAKE ANY RISKS!!!! SO plz help me out here....i can pull off with out the 7 layers of foundation that they put on because i have a fair pink complexion. Not to forget layers of base add on the years to your face (make u look older than ur actual age) n i dont want that......HELP ME OUT !!!

ive heard shaheeen is one of da best from karachi.. its like playing safe when u r going to her.
n dere is nabillas..also one of da bestest..
im getting mine from akif ilyas he is said to give a really different look, he is da new kid on da block... a new entry on da scne but charging more then da established ppl... and he takes only 1-2 brides each day.
n my valima appointment is wid beena khan, also a well known name in da makeup scene in karachi, another safe bet :D
den dere is cistres which is at the sheraton, dey do a good job too.. my friend got her valima makeup from dere n she looked like a doll, very pretty.
then dere is tariq amin for a more of a modelish look:D
other options r allenora, sabs, dupilex, rubinas they can make u look good but nothing out standing :D but then again its personal prefferance!

hey mine me....thanks a bunch for ur reply....hmmm yeah i've heard alot abt akif ilyas...i haven't seen his brides yet but the models that have done their photo shoots wit him really looked dramatic...n thts wat he is known for...how much is he charging you to do the wedding make up???? for Shaheen Saeed my friend paid 18,000 Rs. for just the make up excluding any other services. My preference for the make up is NOT the cakey look at all...cuz i dont need layers of foundations n god knows wat else they put on the face...have u got any pics of bridal make up that is done by akif????
Oh u r still deciding on the photographers...well i have heard abt Hakim sons n i have seen their work..its good...also there is Jimmy's and Munna Mushtaq...Munna is a fashion photographer n is quite expensive!
Man...livin abroad n havin ur own wedding sumwhere else is so Difficult!!!! :(

my friends suggesting jimmys too for da photographs, n i had called up munna mushtaq cuz i saw a few pix of his shoot in a magazine...
but then for my photo shoot ive booked dat with akif ilyas aswell... he is charging 25 000 for da makeup and 20 000 for the photo shoot.
for the event coverage munna mustaq quoted 60 000 for 8rolls of pix n video for 3 days at 8000 per day.
so im still confused between jimmys and munna mustaq.
if u r looking for da bridal portfolio id recoment munna muhstaq his package was 25 000 but da pix i saw in da magazine were really sweet, loved them.
i chose akif cuz its gonna be much convinent, makeup n photo shoot at the same place :D beside khi isnt da safest place to go around all loaded in ur wedding jewellery!! scary

Have u seen Jimmy's portfolio???? hey u know wat..i've also heard that jimmy's (duno abt munna) that they dont give u the negatives back for the pix....is that true?????
My outfits for both wedding and valima will be made by the groom's family...but i was wondering if u would know any good places to buy outfits for the wardrobe or u can say the dresses girls get for jahez....i would be arriving just about 1 month or so before my wedding so i would not have time for the preperations....!!!!

Thank you Shah! umm all my immediate relatives are here in USA and the relatives in pakistan are busy in their own little world!!!! i have been reading threads in this forum and thts y i decided to start using it for ideas and suggestions way ahead of my wedding because i know i can't wait for the last minute...it wont be easy at all.....i want things to go smoothly and dont panic at the last minute since transition from being single to a married woman is not easy itself! :) i'll be really glad if u'll help me out wit more of ur suggestions! Well...I only know of one artist in khi and that is shaheen. She is very good and if u want to be sure that u can always ask for a trial. my sister took a diital camera to her make up trial and was able to take pictures so she can tell how the make up looks in real lyfe and also on camera. You can ask for a trial a week or a day before the wedding. It's always good to be sure!!
and u need the peace of mind to look pretty on ur day. If u don't have confidence in ur artist it would show that day!!
so just relax and that would help u look pretty!!!
