Re: Bridal Makeup in Karachi
A quick review of my experience with Mubashir...I am SO super grateful to the guppies who gave me advice, especially BlushingRose. He was the absolute safest choice, even though I was scared going in...he didn't have a portfolio and he doesn't do all the publicity that salons like Sabs and Allenora do, but it turns out, he doesn't even need to. He says the reason for not having a portfolio is that each bride is different and he works with what her own desires are for the type of look she wants to achieve, the type of event it is (big or small, shaadi or valima, etc) and also, individual features, which in hindsight, it does make sense.
He uses the best quality makeup, and I don't mean just MAC...I'm talking YSL, Givenchy, airbrush foundation....I never felt like my foundation was caked on, and more importantly, I looked like ME just a prettier version :)
I went in, he asked what I was looking for and when I left everything up to him, he looked at me for about 2 minutes before deciding what would be the best look. He asked me for input along the way and also gave suggestions for how my jewelery and dupatta would look best.
When my designer and photographer asked where I would getting my bridal makeup done from, they sighed in relief when I said his name and that, to me, was a good sign.
It was slightly nervewracking leading up to the wedding because I hadn't seen too many Mubashir brides and I sort of took a risk, but it was a wonderful decision that I made upon getting advice from people in the fashion industry and all in all, I made the decision based on the fact that I never heard anything negative about him.

he's located in Defense near Abdullah Shah Ghazi mazaar. His charges, when I booked him, were 30,000...this doesn't include services.
I'm sorry, I can't seem to find his contact info right now, you'll have to do some online searching...when I find it, I'll post.

has anyone had their makeup done by this place?
CALLISTA SALON, SPA & MAKEUP STUDIO

As-salaamu alaikum...I'm a newbie at this forum. I have booked them for my nikkah...i liked the nice, clean atmosphere. The place seemed well equipped and the owner, Nighat Mohsin herself is such a sweet lady. She made me feel completely at ease when discussing the arrangements.
Although I can't say about their quality of work as I have yet to fully experience it but will share my opinion after the twelfth of Feb :)
Re: Bridal Makeup in Karachi
Congratulations on your wedding, Pragmatic SSJ!
What are they charging you for nikkah makeup? Will you go there for services as well?
Thanks mahismart :)
They are charging 12,000Rs complete with services after we clarified that we want a very subtle and subdued look. Ironically my dress is a glaring maroon and orange combo...lets see how it goes. :P
Re: Bridal Makeup in Karachi
I had my engagement make-up done by Akif Ilyas. After searching thru all the threads and not having luck with any real-life bride pictures and positive reviews, I still decided to go with him. Turned out he wasnt bad at all.

So, how good was he? What were the charges? I really couldn't find any info on him as well so would love to know whether he can be placed in the 'potential-makeup-artist' list. :)
Hi guys,
Anyone know the best place to get your bridal makeup done in Karachi? I will be getting married in 2 months and am looking for a makeup artist who'll actually do a good job. I haven't heard good things about the usual people being discussed.
Will be doing my research over the next couple of days....
Any suggestions?
