Hi Sidra,
Don't know much about Zara. Annie Mansoor had a girl named Ghazia in Karachi who did most of bridals. Don't know if she is still there coz i did all this research a year ago. I heard mix reviews about her work. She made some look beautiful while others horrible. I won't recommend Sabs to any one.. It's like a fish market especially if your function is on weekend. Mine was on Saturday and believe me there were around 35-40 brides.. waiting in a queue to get their hair style or base or make up done.. and in the end, Sonia applied so much glitter on my eyes that i looked like a cartoon character..
Nighat Misbah @ diplex is very good but she usually is not in Karachi during summers.. so you better check ahead.. if she is there, she is a very good choice.
I guess the safest choices are Bina Khan, Nabilas, Nighat Misbah, and Cisters @ Sheraton (I loved her makeup).
Re: Bridal Makeup in Karachi
who shud one go to for bridal makeup at
Cistres @ sheraton n
Nabila??

Bushra and Altaf are at Nabila's.. Couple of my friends got their makeup done from Bushra and looked pretty!! I've heard same about Altaf.
At Cistre.. there is one leading lady who does it.. sorry, i forgot her name but if I remember correctly her name starts with 'Z'. Their portfolio is very very out dated but I had seen 2 of my friends makeup before booking my appointment.. For all three of us, it turned out to be very good choice.
P.S: You get really good treatment at Bina Khan and Cistre's (some thing you would expect on your big day) whereas, i saw Saba (SABS) literally shouting at relatives/friends accompanying brides and that obviously was a big turnoff.
Nighat also treats her brides well!
totally agree with Sanaad's advice. Although I didnt go with them, I was considered Cistre's cause I knew two brides who went there and both looked stunning. Again, to back up what Sanaad said, please DONT go to Sabs. My cousin just got married and her makeup was bad on both shaadi and valima but her party makeup from them for her mehndi was ok...the foundation still could have been less heavy.
Altaf is great at Nabila's. Although I went with Mubashir, my second choice was Cistre's...yes the portfolio is outdated, but your best bet in choosing a MUA is going with real feedback. Mubashir didnt even HAVE a portfolio and I chose him based on rave reviews from friends and guppies. I had seen Cistre's brides and all looked stunning.
Re: Bridal Makeup in Karachi
I got mine done by sonia from sabs. It was good I was satisfied. But I agree they dont treat brides like a bride. They show attitude. They got me ready at 5 and my photo shoot was at 7.
who shud one go to for bridal makeup at Cistres @ sheraton n Nabila??
EDIT: Rukhsana
Is it still there? Someone on here said they had moved.
Re: Bridal Makeup in Karachi
I'm quite sure her name is Rukhsana Tabani, I just went to check Cistre out last week...
Re: Bridal Makeup in Karachi
Yes... Thanks Sahar and GAF.. her name is Rukhsana. They were operating in Sheraton till last year and I guess they still are. Rukhsana has opened another salon in Clifton somewhere (near her residence) but it's up to the bride if she wants to go to Sheraton or her salon. I feel most of the brides prefer going to Sheraton.
Re: Bridal Makeup in Karachi
^Yup! Especially if that's where the wedding is, like mine was!
Re: Bridal Makeup in Karachi

Re: Bridal Makeup in Karachi
what about pre wedding preps..
like manicure..spa treatment..facial..waxin..etc
Re: Bridal Makeup in Karachi
^ All that is included in most bridal packages. It was part of my Cistre one. I had the facial/waxing/threading done on the day of the mehndi (two days before the wedding). On the wedding day I had some threading touchups then all the make up, dupatta setting, mani-pedi, etc. Most people would suggest having the facial earlier, in case of a bad reaction -- it's probably a good idea. I took a risk.
Re: Bridal Makeup in Karachi
I got my services from Bina Khan. They are good! I especially liked the OPI mani/pedi. I'm sure Cistre's is good too. They (Cistre) use DMK products, you can google that.

Oh gosh... I don't know what to do! Makeup is such a big concern for me.
I wanted to go with Bina Khan but then I realized, her makeup is too soft for a bride on her wedding day. So, I'm thinking of booking her for my mehndi.
However, for the big day.. I'm lost. I'm so confused. I have no clue who to pick. I am so scared that they will make me look white and not match my skin tone because I'm a little more on the light-wheatish side. I thought of Sabs, then thought of Mubashir, then thought of Mona J... I've tried to look up everyone I can possibly think of and I just don't know who to pick.
So, I'm here asking for some advice, some help. I don't want a bold look, I want something calm and natural but gives that glow and shine to the face. I don't want it to look heavy or feel too heavy on my skin and I want it to look good live and in pics. Can anyone help me out? I feel that I'm being picky... but I can't help it, I don't want to look like a bhoot on my wedding day.
Blah...
Re: Bridal Makeup in Karachi
can you guys tell me what are the charges of bina khan for wedding day and walima and nabila's charges for both days WITHOUT SERVICES...
can any1 tell me about faheem burney's make up ?
Re: Bridal Makeup in Karachi
^ Bina Khan's charging 25k per day, without services. With services, it comes to 33k. No idea about the other two.
and by the way i heard qadir at sabs is really good..one of my frend recently got her make up done by him
Qadir's makeup is amazing!! I think its even better than Saba's in my opinion. And no, he does not make you look older with his makeup. He's really nice and will ask you if you prefer a certain look or if you want to change anything etc.
I got my makeup for all 3 days done by him and believe me people kept asking me who did the makeup. So I really recommend him!
I actually didn't have a problem at Sabs at all and didn't have to wait hours for anything either. I was actually ready before my husband and got to my photo session earlier than him as well. THe only thing I might have had a problem with was waiting to get my facial done during my bridal services there.
