Hi There Ladies, I was wondering if anyone has gotten their make up done at Sabs in karachi or by Bina Khan, whose better? and if anyone knows how much Bina Khan charges? Im getting Nikkahfied Inshallah in Dec and need to get my make up done, but I barely ever ever wear make up and the max is blush, masscara, lipgloss ( for special occassions) and well thats it! and Im 23, but I look 17,( I get carded even to buy smokes, forget getting in any where) Prefer sudtle, pretty looks compared to having loadss on and looking like someone else, who would be a better choice? Sabs, ive seen their website and their make up is nice, but to bright! and Bina Khan, i saw her facebook page, the make up was nicely done, but whose better? Anybody have any experience with them??!?!? Please advice! Thank you
why dont u try Alle'nora by Annie at Zamzama, i have personal experience with them, according to the description u have given Ghazia, the makeup artist there done wonderful job, visit there and talk to her and see by urself, she is really best in makeup according to ur own choice.
I dont know abt Bina but i believe if u tell sabs tht u want lighter makeup they can do it for u btw i think u should better hurry for your appointment as dec is a bz season and sabs makes the bookings 2 months b4 the event
Sabs is good for pastel makeup but I did not like the traditional make up that they do nor the dupatta setting.
I saw Bina Khan on Facebook, too and loved her work. I went to her saloon, too. I would vote for her if you ask me.
Here are the charges for both Sabs and Bina Khan:
SABS The Saloon:
Bridal/Valima Make Up: Rs 15, 000
Bridal Make Up with services: Rs 18,000
Bridal Make Up with Saba: Rs 20,000
Valima Make Up with Saba: Rs 18,000
Engagement Make Up: Rs 10,000
*Rs 1,000 additional will be charged for bridal make ups on Sundays and public holidays.
BINA KHAN:
Bridal/Valima Make Up without services: Rs 20, 000
Engagement/Nikah Make Up without services: Rs 15,000 (This is for a party of 150 guests. Acc to Bina a bride needs more makeup if it is a larger party.)
She actually has a comprehensive description of her make up at her saloon which is a joy to visit.
If you need info on more parlours, I just visited many this Thursday and saw their portfolios. Just ask if you need the list and the prices. Hope this helps.
^ sabs (particularly saba) is famous for traditional makeup.. n sonia at sabs is good for pastel shades.. well i personally dont like bina khan's makeup in real.. her FB is quite impressive.. so a 50 50 for both.. if u need info about other parlours lemme know..
Bina Khan's makeup doesn't turn-out nice in pictures! Her makeup is really light.. Laiqa Hassan is great! I've seen some brides by Saima Rasheed too that looked pretty..
I had my makeup done by Bushra at Nabilas...and I was very pleased with it cuz i dont like heavy makeup looks or the traditional ones...
I had the sort of makeup that u are asking for at my Walima...it was sucha fresh look..she just enhanced my features without layering anything too much...she asked me the kind of look I wanted...and I said more natural for both days and that's what I got...
I totally recommend her ...she charges about 15000 a day...u should book sooner as someone said December is a really busy season...
Well I had my make-up done by Tayyaba @ Sabs - but she has now left as she got married. I loved the results.
My brother-in-law got married in July and his wife got ready from Cistres (I think thats how its spelt) in Sheraton Hotel - and she looked gorgeous.
It was light, subtle but perfect.
I am going to go there next time for any party make-up etc.
when i was choosing who to do my bridal makeup i went to cistres and they have awful portfolios which was the reason i didnt get my makeup done from them. my chachi had gotten her bridal makeup done there and she looked very pretty and that was 8 yrs ago but i wasnt going to rely on that.
i jsut looked at the bina khan group on FB, her makeup looks pretty but i agree with GIna it doesnt look like its suited for pictures although i think she can definitely give u the 'light' look u want.
i got my bridal makeup done from saba at sabs and it was exquisite. sonia did the mehndi make which was also phenomenal and it was very very light and pastels it looked very nice. i was very happy by choosing sabs.
akif ilyas is also very good in khi, u might wanna check him out. his portfolio is amazing though he really only has models and its all model makeup with black eyes & smokey eyes. but its very good.
allenoras makeup in khi is awful unless annie is there herself. but personally i dont like her signature look, she makes these god awful huge lips and has very heavy eye makeup. i would never recommend anyone to go to allenora, atleast not in khi.
my cuzion got married last month,n she did her makeup from cistre's, n it was just wonderful,sh is just ok in looks, but looked very gorgeous,n i have also booked cistre's for my big day:)
i have seen bhabhis makeup, but its not at all good, they make u look like a ghost, apply a whole lot ov base, all the brides that i hav seen of bhabhis were looking not at all gud...
Thank you so much for replying ever, Im still confused lol and you guys are right, december is just around the corner, and Im still in North America and I have absolutely no clue as my own wedding is the 4th wedding in my entire life! (literally), Im not really a fan of pastelly colours, altho I do like the whole glowing look, that like Jessica Alba and Jo.lo sport, like their skin looks heathy! Even wats her face, ummm Keira Knightely, I know I know, we're not white white, but I still like how thier skin looks heathy! and thier make up (except Jlo,hers is sickening) is usualy quite natural with sudtle smokey eyes.. That's what I want, nothing dramatic but sudtle and glowing, and I dont want bronze lips!!! or REDD--just plain natural pink lips. Uumm now sabs or Bina? or Laiqa Hassan would do that? I have a feeling, Bina Khan would be able to achieve that look, but looking at her facebook pictures, I think thier just students trying make up on, but one particular picture, was of a Amna Mahmood, it was pretty, thats kind of the look I want. :)
Also, just spoke to a few people and their like at sabs its a 50/50 rick, since at times they do a phenomel job, but at times its just crappy, and Laiqa hassan etc, their more suited for models as they give more dramatic looks, im looking for more delicate kind of make up lol Im totally confusing myself! Im leaning more towards Bina Khan right now. She teaches people how to do make up, how bad could she possible be! But then what everyone saying regarding pictures! eeeeee, then i lean towards sabs! this is a major situation here! lol.
m also not in the favour ov bina,my frnd got ready from there in this june, and she was looking crap, though shez very beautiful in person, but she looked very bad on her wedding day...
A cousin of mine got her makeup done from Laiqa Hasan for her Walima...It was too ashy...she made her darker...even though the color she was wearing was quite fresh...but it was just a waste...
I havent seen very many pretty brides by hher...
A friend got her engagement makeup done by Bina...didnt like it...it was too overdone for the event...It's a risk with her...
Ever heard of Shamain...I just recently saw a bride by her...she looked quite fresh n pretty...
