Bridal, Formal & Casual Wear from Lahore based designer

Re: Bridal, Formal & Casual Wear from Lahore based designer

there are many shops at liberty dupatta gali that sell swarovski stones for around 100rs per dozen too.

hey proto - is that 100rs for 12 (!) or do you mean 1 gross (12 dozen)?

the thing is, other lesser quality stones can easily be passed off as swarovski crystals. i know this because of the research i put in when i first started using them to make sure i wasn’t buying fakes. although sometimes it can be hard as you can get some really high quality fakes; in which case it probably doesn’t matter too much as long as the crystal is cut properly and the facets inside meet and points and don’t overlap.

Genuine or fake? How to identify REAL Swarovski!

Re: Bridal, Formal & Casual Wear from Lahore based designer

they are stamped as swarovskis and 100rs is for 12 stones.they have a shine that is clearly beautiful and different from ordinary stones.

I agree with prototype, also, 90 percent of the real swavoskis we get here arent the stick on ones with glue etc, they are pure crystal stones with a bottom dimension that has to be placed in a crystal base (silver or gold) before using it on the work. :)

Re: Bridal, Formal & Casual Wear from Lahore based designer

^SairaJi, quite. I'm not disagreeing with Prototype, I was just surprised at the price!
Both exist and can be used on clothes, essentially they are the same thing, whether they are placed in a base or not and it depends what look the designer wants to achieve as the crystal base adds more bulk.
Also it depends on the type of cut, for example the Chanton (diamond cut) has to be placed in a base as the back is not flat but the flat black come in a variety of cuts and Xilion Rose is the most common.
I don't live in Pakistan so it's good to hear the real stuff is available.

I think that's enough off-topic stuff now.

stoppit,

I am really glad I clicked on this thread - some really awesome work and yeah you can definitely tell the work is super quality. :)

I am eyeing a few outfits here. You say it takes 4 weeks to receive it?

Re: Bridal, Formal & Casual Wear from Lahore based designer

^Hi SU!

It depends on which outfit you're after. The red one takes 1.5 weeks max to make. Some of the others can take 2-3 weeks. If you tell me which, I can find out how long for you.

Shipping costs are not included, so you may chose the service you wish to pay for. PakPost is the cheapest and takes 10-15 days. DHL expensive but fast. And TCS moderately priced (approx Rs.4,000 for 3kg) and takes 3 days to Europe and US.

Outfits are started as soon as the deposit is received, so starting time depends on how quickly the customer confirms the order in this way.

Edit

Price adjusted:

Pink/Peach Bridal Lengha
Fabric: Pure Crinkle Chiffon
Kaam: Heavy with Swarovski crystals (especially the border), Sequins, Threadwork (french knots), Dabka, Beads, Zircons
Price: Rs.125,000 £964 $1,548; today’s rates]

Making time: 2 months

Edit

All his other outfits are fixed prices but he expected bargaining for the lengha so priced accordingly initially. Given the comments, the adjusted price is what he believes is fair for two months of his time and work. As he said to me: making a bridal requires a great deal of physical and emotional energy as he is dealing with something that is very important to the client and therefore there is no margin for error.
The cost of the Swarovski’s alone in this outfit is Rs.25,000-30,000, not to mention the zircon crystals.

White and Grey Bridal Lengha
Shirt: Crinkle Chiffon
Lengha: Banarsi Chiffon
Duputta: Plain Chiffon (Grey, although it looks blue-ish)
Kaam: Fine Dabka & Kora, Sequins, Cut Dana, Diamantes,
Price: Rs.85,000 £652 $1,049; today’s rates]

I was playing with my macro lens and took some close-ups of the kaam on my Beige and Turquoise outfit.

Although there is the worry of it being copied, I think it deserves recognition.

A lot of materials have been used in a small area too.

Re: Bridal, Formal & Casual Wear from Lahore based designer

you should copy write your pics^

Re: Bridal, Formal & Casual Wear from Lahore based designer

yea like noone goin to copy...lol :p

mmm, i should. i was lazy.

well people might try and copy the work but who doesn't. imho you'd need to find some pretty skilled kaarigar's to copy that well though.
at least a copyright of the photo will put people off displaying it as their own work as you often see in FB etc.

Re: Bridal, Formal & Casual Wear from Lahore based designer

Ya like you said it might not keep them from copying, but they can't make it their own!

Stoppit, I LOVE all the designs you have posted and I was wondering if you could help me. I am searching for a sari to wear to my brother's Valima in July which contains ferozi (the Valima colors are ferozi and blue orchid). I was wondering if your tailor friend could make me a copy of a deepak perwani sari I like? Also, do you have any ferozi saris in stock for bridal?

Please if you could post pics and prices let me know - also you can reach me at which is my regular email address. I can send you the deepak perwani sari pics on your email address also.

Thanks! :)
