I really want to order this outfit, can this be made exact the way it is in the pics. I love the kaam done on it. I would prefer trouser though.
Hi H33na,
Yes, it will be made exactly the same as these are his actual designs. Trousers and other modifications are fine, you just need to discuss all the details you require with him. I will pm you his details, other info and a measurement template shortly :)
Just for interest I thought I’d upload some other stuff he has done for me so that you can see what else he can do if you request it of him.
This was a piece of material my mum had, I believe it’s a very fine cotton-silk. It is sooo soft but also silky with a hint of shine. I asked him to make a simple kurta (it was only enough fabric for that) with embroidery around the neck band and opening. This is what he did:
Hand thread-work with a very small and delicate chain stitch.
**Brown Frock ** Skirt: Banarsi Chiffon Bodice: Orange section in banarsi chiffon and blue mid section in jamawar.
Duputta and Churidaar to match. Kaam: Around the neckline using Cut Dana, Dabka and Diamantes. Price: Rs.19,000£145, $237 today’s rates]
The colour scheme of this is a bit off but don’t let that put you off the design. It can be made in any colour scheme you desire.
Re: Bridal, Formal & Casual Wear from Lahore based designer
^thanks for your feedback rabia. i'm just advertising these for him so i'm not involved in his pricing but i will let him know.
for just over £1000 though, it's much, much better than what you can buy from U.K. for that price. and all those swarovski's must have taken ages to place.
Re: Bridal, Formal & Casual Wear from Lahore based designer
Both my sisters brought their bridal lengha from the UK and they cost just under £1,000 each and had amazing embroidery and crystals on there. So it is possible you can get amazing bridal outfits from the UK for that price :-)
Its a nice lengha just slightly pricey for the amount of work thats on there..
Purple Sherwani Kameez: Raw Silk with Jamawar piping and border (fully lined kameez) Trousers/Capris: In Jamawar with a proper waistband and side zip Duputta: Pure Chiffon with Jamawar border Kaam: Beadwork, Sequins, Dabka and Diamantes Price:Rs.9,000 £69; $112; today’s rates]
Turquoise Anarkali Anarkali: Chiffon Banarsi (flowers are in blue, pink and bronze), fully lined with hidden back zip. Churidaar: Blue Silk to match ends of duputta. Duputta: Chiffon Banarsi dyed turquoise in the middle and blue at the ends. Price:Rs.7,500 £58; $93; today’s rates]
This is mainly just an example and the price is due to the fabric used. If you would like the same outfit, the pattern on the banarsi won’t be exactly the same but he will endeavour to get it as close as possible.
However, the same outfit can be made in other fabrics, such as lawn and would cost a lot less (unless the lawn is as expensive as the banarsi).
are these crystals glued or sewn on? if glued on, do they fall off?
Hi Dawn,
They are flat backed Swarovski's - not sure if he uses the hot-fix ones or the ones with separate glue as I haven't asked. Either way they are high quality crystals and a proper method is used so they shouldn't fall off - not easily anyway. They haven't come off in any of the outfits I have from him.
Personally, I've used hot-fix Swarovski's to embellish some of my own plainer clothes myself and I've had virtually no fall off problems, but you do need to take care of how you store them and dry clean etc.
If you’re buying hot-fix you will also need to buy an applicator that is basically like a solder-iron (a metal rod that heats up) - I wouldn’t advise using a regular iron with these if you want to apply them properly.
I have to say that this is why his clothes are more expensive too, for example that bridal (although I need to have a word with him about that because I think he might be under the impression that people will bargain on bridals so set the price higher) has thousands of swarovski’s and they don’t come cheap. other designer’s claim to use swarovski’s but if they really did, their clothes would be a lot more expensive. you can get plenty of different grades of crystal, some coming very cheap so unless the buyer is savvy in this respect, they wouldn’t know the difference.
