HI Stoppit, Could i ask why this outfit is so expensive plz?
Re: Formal Wear from Lahore based designer
^lol you can call and ask the designer who's making/selling them.
i know the work on it cost a lot. the whole kameez front is handworked with thread, dabka and beads. then you can see how dense it is around the neckline with work and plenty of crystals in there. a big difference from a lot of the other oufits i've seen compared to his is that the work is mixed quite intricately - like you will have dabka with sequins vertically placed in between it, or dabka almost like french knots and other such stuff. unless you get a really good close up, you can't see that sort of stuff.
i know it's probably hard to believe me or trust me but the making cost of all these outfits is not much below the sales price.
personally, i questioned him on why the white one was soo much too, until i saw the close-up.
thanks :)
no probs. if you are thinking you might want to place an order but feel this one is too expensive i'd call him and ask for a price quote for a lighter outfit of the same kind.
you could ask for him to lighten the work on the kameez as in space it out, or for it to be only thread embroidery in that area and minus the dabka and beads i can see. and you can ask him to remove the last border around the neck, i think it's unnecessary and OTT; the white beads and crystals borders and the border between them are enough.
hope that helps :)

the kaam is amazingly exquisite!
thanks dawn, i'm glad people are noticing! i've had a lot of questions as to why the outfits are more expensive than other outfits with the same amount of work.
but for the level of detail and variety of materials used in his kaam, they are reasonably priced.
i have all outfits from all kinds of places and price ranges - you don't need an outfit to have amazing kaam on it for it to look good. but when it comes to formal's and outfits that I want to be able to wear again later, i prefer the kaam to be delicate and beautiful and long lasting, so get him to make them. He also does my stitching of even casual outfits as i'm a stickler for proper fitting. if i want cheaper, more ordinary kaam, i get my MIL to do it in Multan and then i give them to him for stitching.
How long would this take to make?
How long would this take to make?
I would estimate 2 weeks, maybe 3. If you're interested I can ask him. Depends how much load shedding is happening to be honest, and how much work he has on at the moment. :)
Re: Formal Wear from Lahore based designer
Red Mughal Jamawar making time will be 1.5 weeks (or less). Shipping is not included as that depends on which courier you'd like to use and which service (standard, express).
Using Pakistan Post:
** Regular Air Parcel**
Regular air parcel takes 12 to 20 days to reach its destination. And will cost about Rs.1,500
Although, it seems the same price for their International Speed Post too.. so dunno what's going on there.
Of course you can chose DHL/UPS too, which will be more pricey.
Re: Formal Wear from Lahore based designer
I love that red outfit, really gorgeous.
Re: Formal Wear from Lahore based designer
thanks for the feedback ladies :)
i have told him it's popular so hopefully he will keep that in mind for future designs.
i've also mentioned that i'm sure people would like to see that he can do a good copy, so let's see what he does. of course, my sobia nazir one (that i mentioned on the first page) will be coming in a few weeks so i'll show you guys that when i get it. i don't need it until august so i told him to put people's more urgent orders first.
