As I said if there is no way to get to a private place then go ahead, it's not the end of the world but if you can find a secluded/private place then please move there.

FF JI, what’s the difference between bottle feeding and breastfeeding? Are you suggesting that bottle (or other baby food – like Gerber’s Turkey Jar) should also be done in private? Where exactly do you draw the line? Do you really think that the breastfeeding is done for displaying boobs? I don’t think so.

FF Ji, they now make special bras where only the nipple is out and the rest of the titty is covered. It’s much more private to satisfy the non-customers.

How ridiculous. Why is it disgusting if a woman is breasfeeding her baby? Heavens me. And when women are feeding the babies, I have yet to see a full view of their chests. Most if not all, discreetly open their shirts and feed the baby, theres nothing to see. Esp desi women are quite careful, but I would say the rest are too. They’re not doing it to put themselves in display folks.
And have you ever been out with a tiny little baby who is crying his/her head off because he is hungry? And is the mother supposed to run back home to feed him/her ?
There are places inside shopping malls, changing rooms and such, but there is always a time when nothing is available, and the baby needs to be fed. I see nothing wrong with it.
And anyone who brought Islam into it, have you ever seen how a Muslim woman feeds her baby in public? Its with a huge chadar or something over them like PCg mentioned. You see nothing!

Just imagine how that women feels who is breastfeeding!!! Its not easy to breastfeed in public for them either and why should she be embarrassed or not be albe to do it??? Its a natural process. Plus all the women i've ever seen they are covered up with a shawl or blanket how are their boobs on display??? like some of you said.
Why is it that a breasfeeding mom is a disgusting sight for us although people who are having partial sex in public is OK?????

I’d agree with Madhanee line of thinking. There is really no need to ostracize the mother by asking her to go into a private room. Ofcourse, if she wants to breastfeed in private, she should avail the Family Lounges that are built inside many malls. But a more practical problem is that this is a fairly distracting activity, especially when the mother wants to continue chatting while re-arranging her clothes to feed the baby in public. You look the other way and she thinks you are rude, you look at her and you are a pervert. This is really a no-win situation.

A descret blanket or old cloth diaper covering the shoulder and the area of body inviting such criticism is A. Ok. by me.
A blanket swaddling the baby tossed over mommy's shoulder...even when one is breast feeding truly is not noticable.

i have generally seen women who dont breastfeed in public are the shy types…its really got nothing to do with how disgusting it is…they cant do it even if thier lives depended on it…there is seriously nothing else to the ‘choice’…
