KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has expelled Salim Shehzad from the party’s Rabita Committee here on Friday.
The decision has been taken at an emergency meeting of the Coordination Committee of MQM today. The committee directed the activists not to make any contact with Salim Shehzad, failing which their membership will stand canceled.
Shehzad has been removed from the party’s membership due to his involvement in some mysterious activities, it said.
MQM also instructed the workers not to contact senior member Muhammad Anwar.
Meanwhile, MQM’s senior member Anis Advocate also voluntarily resigned from the party’s membership.

Altaf Hussain then wanted to get rid of Salim. He apparently took assurance from the Zardari administration to allow Salim come over to Karachi without any arrest and live for sometime. Salim came and was ordered by Altaf Hussain to arrange for Pukhtoon massacre in Karachi in the name of blocking Talibanization. Salim was exposed by the intelligence agencies and Shoaib Suddle personally manipulated Salim Shahzad who was offered pardon in lieu of coopeation.

MQM expelled Imran Farooq also few yrs ago and now he is back .. lets see and wait if that happens and Salim actually comes back

i read suspense digest in which there is a serial of a nawab of sutbudai rafeek , who is former member of politcal party and when he quit , party people r after him.. that party in novel reflects MQM..

Today didn"t read or saw any follow up news on this story, don"t now why? May be MQM wants to keep this story at low profile? i will be happy to see cracks in this gangsters party.

Well, have often heard of MQM ppls. But are they a political party or some criminal gang? So far what I know about them is that they are ppls whose elders migrated from Indian side to Pakistan during partition. They speak urdu. And they have issues with Pathans who speak pashsto. Long time back often heard about riots in Karachi between them. But coz media was not that active as its now, couldnt get chance to learn more about them.
I m from India, can someone plz add or substract to my little knowledge about them?
