Re: Breaking News: Shoiab Akhtar Banned for 5 Years !!

^ I don't know about "shame" but certain someone was found clubbing/getting-kicked-out-of-club when he had to leave a series in middle for being injured out of Pakistan.

Re: Breaking News: Shoiab Akhtar Banned for 5 Years !!

So hitting a fellow fast bowler with the bat is not shameful? And to cry over it in public and blaming it on Afridi is not shameful either? Things happen in dressing room all the time but the way he acted there was way over the line.

Re: Breaking News: Shoiab Akhtar Banned for 5 Years !!

so u don't think its shameful enough that despite giving so many chances at the highest level to represent and play for the country, everytime he had put his own interests ahead of the country and team. you don't think that its shameful enough that he was more fit in the dressingroom of the opposition than in his own when his team was on an official tour. you don't think its shameful that he says he's been targeted for special treatment when infact he's been treated specially by the PCB for so many years. spending hundreds of thousands of dollars and pounds on him to get fit. for wht? to dump the team when it needed him the most and run after bollywood sh!t? these r not the actions of a normal human being with shame. i'm sure the way things have always work in pak, he will have his ban overturned. afterall its a corrupt nation, corrupt to the core. look at ppl how they are treating him as if he is come kind of hero whose been punished wrongfully. but then can't expect anything sane from this nation. afterall, its the same nation that had assassinated its heroes, re-elected corrupt murderous politicians as leaders and rally behind shameless creatures likes shoaib. if i were in position of authority, i would have had equated his actions to treason and put him behind bars for the rest of his natural life. his is a national disgrace for a disgraced nation.

Re: Breaking News: Shoiab Akhtar Banned for 5 Years !!

Thank God, about time he gets banned! 5 years is a bit extreme though... maybe now he will have time to try his luck in Mahesh Bhatt's movies, ha.

Re: Breaking News: Shoiab Akhtar Banned for 5 Years !!

I don't agree with the ban. Yes, sometimes he acts like a douche but banning him for 5 years is too much. No other board punishes their players like PCB does, sometimes without justification.
But soon this ban will be overturned, Nasim Ahraf will go home. So no worries.

Re: Breaking News: Shoiab Akhtar Banned for 5 Years !!

In 5 years not now! Leaving his extraordinary way of life aside, his 4 over spells alone are worth it!

Re: Breaking News: Shoiab Akhtar Banned for 5 Years !!

LOL, this ban's not gonna stick. The Prime Minister has already asked to review his case again and Naseem Ashraf's gonna be out of the picture soon anyway.Relax Everybody, Shoaib's not that easy to get rid of.Only death or the apocalypse can remove him, and neither of those are happening him to soon anyway.

Re: Breaking News: Shoiab Akhtar Banned for 5 Years !!

Yet another example of how organizations and institutions have been ba$terdized in Pakistan.
Are Pakistanies ever going to follow a consistent and impartial system to issue warnings, bans, appeals, protests etc.
Everyone has a big ego no matter who the heck he or she is...form Mushy, Nasim Ashraf, Gillani to Waqar, Shoaib or Kaneria..everyone is to be blamed for not letting the system work.It is cricket and the fans who suffer the consequences along with these wise asses.

Government intervention in PCB's activites is not appreciated. We should condemn it rather than khee khee kheeing and saying Pakistan mein sub chalta hai. It is time for a god damn change.

Re: Breaking News: Shoiab Akhtar Banned for 5 Years !!

ba$terdized! That was slick bro.

Re: Breaking News: Shoiab Akhtar Banned for 5 Years !!

Agree one hundred percent :k:

Re: Breaking News: Shoiab Akhtar Banned for 5 Years !!

That is wishful I dare suggest even if his ban is lifted. He is 31 already and he is a fast bowler. At best he can go on for another 2-3 years. Express Fast bowlers are usu. finished by the time they reach 33 or 34 and I can give you hundreds of examples (Malcolm Marshall, Waqar etc.)

Re: Breaking News: Shoiab Akhtar Banned for 5 Years !!

*Dair aaiy, durust aaiy! *:yahoo:

Re: Breaking News: Shoiab Akhtar Banned for 5 Years !!

shoaib chuckster says he was offered money to underperform but he refused. simply bcos he was willing to do it for free as he was already underperforming to begin with.

Re: Breaking News: Shoiab Akhtar Banned for 5 Years !!

We were all promised by Nasim Chamcha in September 2006 when he took over from Shahryar as PCB Chairman that there would be a PCB Constitution within three months. 19 months have since elapsed and we are still waiting. Although I personally do not approve of PM or President (though he is Patron of PCB) meddling in the affairs of the board, I would like Gillani to interfere in this matter to bring an end to this nonsense.

Adhocism = No accountability....This joke must end soon

Re: Breaking News: Shoiab Akhtar Banned for 5 Years !!

why should PM interfere? let PCB decide about this jokester. he is a national disgrace. as for accountibility, who do u want to understake the task of this so-called accountibility? the whole government is corrupt and corruption breeds corruption. if officials at the PCB are corrupt then obviously they were put in place by corrupt government officials. so to ask them for accountibility is like asking a murderer to be the judge in a murder trial. i personally am happy that this scum-bag is banned for 5 years and am hoping that the ban will stay. but then in pak everything is possible except for the right thing to happen.

Indian mole Naseem Ashraf ends Shoaib Akhtar's career!

This dirtbag crook Naseem Ashraf finally does it. It shouldnt surprise anyone because this Indian agent's track record in destroying Pakistani cricket is well-known to everyone.

Just as his boss Mushy likes to destroy characters and careers of people who are this nation's heros, eg Dr AQ Khan, Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhary, Molana Ghazi Abdurasheed Shaheed. This pro-pro-Indian, infact more pro than the Indians themselves, has been trying really hard to destroy Pakistani cricket, has now delivered his worst almost lethal venom.

What was the reason. well nobody knows. As far as the world knows Akhtar has never said anything wrong in his entire career. One probable reason is jealousy, which is understandable, because all Mushy's men hate every Pakistani with some degree of respect and honor. Another reason may be to forcefully push him into playing the dirty Indian domestic trash cricket. He is being punished for opting to play for Pakistan instead of going to India.

Anyway, please guys Shoaib needs our total and uncompromising support, plz don't be fooled by our media's hate mongering (which is obviously Pakistani based Indian-owned media)

Shoaib Akhtar 'hurt' by five-year Pakistan ban
By Simon Briggs

Last Updated: 3:17pm BST 01/04/2008

Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar says he will fight the five-year ban imposed yesterday by the Pakistan Cricket Board, which would almost certainly end his international career.

Shoaib received the penalty after he voiced critical remarks about the Board's decision to downgrade his central contract. He was already serving a two-year probation period after striking team-mate Mohammad Asif with a bat in the lead-up to the World Twenty20 championships in South Africa last year.

"I am deeply disappointed and hurt," Akhtar said as he emerged from a disciplinary committee meeting. "I was demoted from central contract 'A' category, which was very hurtful and as a reaction I said something. I have apologised to the PCB, before the disciplinary committee and before everyone.

"So I thought that they would take a lenient action, but this harsh decision has effectively ended my career. I still want to play for my country.".

Since his international debut in 1997, the 32-year-old Akhtar has always attracted controversy. He has repeatedly been accused of feigning injuries when he did not want to play, and two years ago tested positive for nandrolone - though the findings were reversed on appeal.

When fully committed, though, Akhtar has been as dangerous as any seamer in world cricket. On top of his raw pace - which saw him become the first man to record 100mph on the speed gun - he is capable of guile and deception. His 17 wickets against England in the 2005-06 series effectively won the series, and sparked a long period of English decline.

"The board has lost confidence in Shoaib Akhtar and therefore felt that his presence in the field was damaging to the Pakistan team, for Pakistan players and for the image of Pakistan cricket," said the PCB chairman Dr Naseem Ashraf. "It's a sad day for me and for Shoaib Akhtar because he is such a talented player."

However, the PCB chief said that Akhtar would still be able to play for other teams around the world, clearing the fast bowler to play for the lucrative Indian Premier League next month.

"Ask the captain (Shoaib Malik), ask coach Geoff Lawson and they would vouch for me. I had played with high fever on the India tour (last year), which proved my commitment for the team," Akhtar said. "I bowl fast so I am prone to injuries, but I have given my heart, soul and body to this team.

"I know some vested interest did not want me to be the part of the team, but I will be back."

Pakistani paceman Shoaib Akhtar says he was offered money to under-perform in games in South Africa and India but rejected them for the sake of his country.
Shoaib has been banned for five years by the Pakistan Cricket Board for disciplinary reasons but is planning an appeal.
He said: 'This sort of ban has not been enforced anywhere on any cricketer.
'Players who betrayed their country escaped without such punishment. Why am I being victimised?'

Re: Indian mole Naseem Ashraf ends Shoaib Akhtar's career!

shoaib hamster is a nation hero? since when? he is more like a national disgrace than anything else.
