Face it. Your security systems can not provide safety to international sportsperson. Officials and visiting players are not safe in Pakistan and I definitely dont see anybody visiting Pakistan to play for a long duration.
And you really think Cricket can be played in a country like yours where fielders may not have to just catch the ball or play the shots but also duck bullets and bombs at the same time?
Get real and accept the facts. Its the laxity and incompetence on part of your government, security officials and systems that has led to this. Add to that a certain few who seek attention through such cowardly act.

Lets not forget the six policeman killed in this incident. These brave guys laid down their lives to protect the SL team and didnt let them get near to the bus otherwise the consequenses would have been horrible, also hats off to the dirver who drove the bus away. These are the true heroes.
May Allah privde Jannah for all those who lost their lives today.

^ Exactly these bravemen laid down their lives in the line of duty. They probably said their usu. khuda Hafiz etc. to their families after breakfast this morning.....neither they nor their poor loved ones realising they won't be coming back home today

Absolutely. The security guards did a great job of protecting the lives of the SL team. Also quick thinking by the driver saved the day.

The only reason for these attacks are to isolate Pakistan, declare it a terrorist state. I dont think any Pakistani would do something like that. If something like this happened against England team or Australia etc, then it would have been different. Why would someone attack Sri Lankan team??? May be "revenge" for Mumbai attacks??

I salute all the jawans that lost their lives doing their duty and protecting the image of Pakistan. They could have ran away when the attack happened, rather they gave their lives, and defended the Sri Lankan players. May Allah make it easy on their families for this loss.

**Today's attack on Sri Lanka's cricketers is a despicable act, a coward's agenda. Nobody should lose their life over a game of cricket, and no sportsman, official, or spectator should be injured in pursuit of the game they love.
The sole purpose of this barbaric act is a craving for the oxygen of publicity. There can be little political or strategic mileage to be gained by an attack on sportsmen. Indeed, we can only hope that such mindless violence will deeply damage the cause of the perpetrators, and precipitate their rapid downfall.
Brave Sri Lanka did not deserve this insult, and all sympathies are with their players and the officials who have been injured. Questions will inevitably be asked about the security arrangements, despite the regrettable deaths of several policemen. How could such a high profile tour have been allowed to have been ruined in this way? What do Pakistani security guarantees count for?
The least of the consequences of this disaster is that those who have advocated the continuation of international cricket in Pakistan - including me - have been proved wrong. No international team will now visit Pakistan, and the Pakistan Cricket Board should voluntarily arrange all future tours at neutral venues for the next year, may be longer.
This the darkest day in the history of Pakistan cricket and it occurred in a pleasant suburb of Lahore, a once great city of gardens and tranquility, not far from my own family home in Pakistan.

The convoy was attacked from all 4 sides at once
The attackers had at least 1 rocket launcher and grenades as well as assault rifles - they were more heavily armed than the police escort!
They came in at least one car and rickshaws. Which makes you wonder why in Lahore a rickshaw driver would give a ride men with AK-47s!
