Pakistan is where is b/c of army and corrupt generals. They created the jihadi monster that is out of control now and innocent people are paying with their lives. If Pakistan is to survive as sate we must get army out of politics permanently from policy making...

Well lets hope for the best, but as I said these accusations might turn into facts one day or another. Let Musharraf go, then we will see how many facts have been kept behind closed doors. We need a honest person and we all once thought Musharraf to be the man, but he had number of u-turns. More than any other leader in Paks history.

American forces have regularly bombed madrasas in FATA in which umpteen innocent kids have been died and when those people protested the pakis demanded proofs of their innocence and at the same time their fake commando took responsibility for the strikes, this coward doesn't have an iota of integrity and self-respect in his blood. BTW, do you know how many of these suicide bombers were Punjabis?

So where do you want to drop atom bomb in Pakistan? Today's bomb is 1000 times powerful what was dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Aug 1945. That small device wiped out hirshima nagasaki and killed more than 200,000 people. People still suffer the after effects in the form of diseases and born handicap children.
Whereever you want to drop atom bomb in Pakistan, whole Pakistan and perhaps neighboring countries will be affected killing millions of people, wiping out Pakistan from the world's map. Is that what you want? Perhaps not.

It's hopeless. Seeing how many attacks we have had, it is mind boggling that our people don't rise up against the terrorist hiding in the tribal areas and keep on taking losses. Our politicians on focusing on how to embarrass Musharraf while Pakistanis are losing lives to terrorists. If we had a single attack on us by an outside country, say India, there will be protests and riots pressurizing the government into taking action against the attackers. In fact, we have a number of people who actually take "joy" in the actions of these terrorists. Crescent is one example.. yeah i said it, though it may get me banned, but I am sure he's down on his knees praying for more attacks from his tribal brothers! *******!

In lahore much more devastation could had been caused if the *******s had attacked any public place.. but they attacked police, navy office, FIA (both blasts) etc. true others also get caught in teh violence..

The Army has not done enough on home land security. I blame the Army since It has been in rule for 8 years now. We never had the case of Pakistanis blowing up themselves in Lahore, Khi, Islamabad.
We need special forces for such task. Some anti-terror squad maybe.

If it is one or two rare attacks here and there it could be called a law & order issue.
If it is say a dozen attacks a year you could call it some sort of movement and with a mix of disciplinary action and diplomacy you can fix it.
What's happening Pakistan for the past 2 years or so is much worse than these. Dissident groups seem to be able to attack where they want, when they want and seem to marshal resources in almost all parts of Pakistan - including within yards of the capital, military barracks, let alone mosques and markets.
This kind of widespread resource acquisition is only possible with a broad based support from the population and institutions.
So what is driving this? Several factors,
- the compulsion felt by groups to implement sharia intensely
- the dysfunctional state of the military officiers who until recently ran the institutions with power privelege and in some cases, pride (I think there are actually two different groups of such military officers - one that existed until 3 years ago and one that formed since then)
- the dichotomy felt by ISI - they have been roundly criticised and given up for some past missions; they are being told to run missions that align to covert policy yet overtly they are being punished - spies are game to be disowned or criticised in public but not for punishment.
- Resources - there is a huge resource issue staring at the government which only gets worse if they go against US policy, yet what US wants is no longer clear
Every distinct group has had its pride hurt seriously - whether it be elite military, intelligence, religious group, provincial administration, justice, police.....Each has become distrustful of each other. When you don't trust your own country men and fellow official, how are you going to trust India or USA or the UN...or OIC or Iran or Saudi?
Leadership is usually what saves the day in such a mess. Unless some leader emerges soon how will the major and stronger of the groups (which in my view is the provincial groups as opposed to religion, politics or ther) to sit idle and await their fate be written for them?

You did not mention one more very crucial factor:
Al-qaeda is a collective term used for afghani taleban and Pakistani extremist sects.
Pakistani militant organizations are collectively known as Anjuman e Taaliban e Pakistan that mainly includes following extremist groups:
Sipah e Sahaba (also known as Millat-e-Islamia Pakistan)
Lashkar e Jhangvi
Harakat-ul-ansar
et al.
Afghani taleban are good at mass killing, they are cold-blooded, barbaric, and illiterate. Hate is the only language they speak and understand. Pakistani taleban mainly work for recruitment and training of young men for suicide attacks, funding, gathering resources and explosive material.
Afghani talibanistic forces would not have gained strength and momentum in Pakistan, if they were not supported by Pakistani extremists organization. Above mentioned Pakistani extremist sects know Pakistan inside and out, they have been living here as Pakistanis for past sixty years.
Now the question why exactly Taleban and Wahabi forces are working in collaboration?
There are two reasons:
1- Similarity of Islamic ideology (intolerance of other Muslim sects, hate based, misinterpretation of Islamic rules and regulation as per the requirement of aims and ambitions, observance of an extreme and violent version of shariah, etc)
2- Common ancestors, the lineage goes back to about fourteen centuries and 15-20 generations.
