Boycott Bollywood movies

So everyone lives in palace in pakistan? Even if it is a slum land of poor ,none of them crosses neighbouring country to kill innocents.

Re: Boycott Bollywood movies

^ crosses border ?? ???LOL what a joke. go get some mental check up. the whole mumbia drama is more nonsensical than a bolly film. india has glorious history of killing its minorities and don't even get me started on the inhuman treatment meated out the poor untouchables.

Re: Boycott Bollywood movies

We gave india it's only claim to fame The Taj Mahal...till today it's surviving on our bakhshish.

^ :uz:

Were your ancestors involved in building the Taj or are you Shah Jehan’s great grand daughter ?

Well, the truth is that despite trashing Bollywood movies on this forum to appear patriotic you guys get pirated Bollywood DVDs and watch them at home.

Talk about hypocrisy…:snooty:

Here is a newsflash - your govt has accepted this "drama" to be true and also taken action based on facts. So you can come out of denial now :p

Re: Boycott Bollywood movies

Haha!

Well, as much as I do NOT like Bollywood movies, I hate to say that unfortunately they are the largest film industry after Hollywood I suppose. Hey, their dudes even won a few oscars :D. Lollywood may have some awesome original ideas but unfortunately in this dog eat dog world, success isn't about ideas but implementation and quality. You have to admit that Bollywood movies are technically superior. I'm not talking about content here. Yes, nothing can come close to Pakistani TV dramas. They are the BEST without a doubt and that's where all the talent is. Indians can't come even close.

Regarding boycotting, ummm, it's a personal choice. Why not? They are pure entertainment without much value being added to our lives, and if we desis can dare to get out of our homes and enjoy real life for a change and resist the charm of watching Abhishek dancing with some dudette, night after night for the rest of our lives, then sure..but no, all hell will break loose, no?

Re: Boycott Bollywood movies

yawn

I don't see how any of you are benefiting from Bolly/Lollywood talk.

Re: Boycott Bollywood movies

Kalli Billi, you're bang on. If things in Pakistan stabilized, you'd actually have a lot of showbiz/art activity going around as happened during the 2000-2004 period when things were fairly OK and the media flourished. Its all about political stability and that affects the economics of showbiz in the end, even I'd personally like to contribute my bit personally to their initiatives there, only if the situation improved....

And those who like Bollywood films, well you're entitled to watching bad cinema, its really your choice. Just don't get touchy when others call it what it is. Its just one huge plagiarizing mill -- every, and i mean EVERY major film they churn out is ripped off from some Urdu/Hollywood/Tamil film.

:lifey:

I know, it just took away 2 very important minutes of my life :hinna:

Re: Boycott Bollywood movies

I though the choice to watch Lollywood is still there, no ? :D

Re: Boycott Bollywood movies

^^ Its not about Lollywood, its about Bollywood. Start another thread, and there are plenty, if you want to talk about Lolywood.

Re: Boycott Bollywood movies

^ Aren't they inter-related though ? Make better movies in Lollywood and Pakistanis won't feel the need to watch Bollywood "trash" ? :p

Re: Boycott Bollywood movies

This thread is not about the battle between Lollywood and Bollywood, Einstein. Its about awful bollywood films which no self respecting individual should watch let alone enjoy. Stick to the topic.

Re: Boycott Bollywood movies

Per the OP -

"I would like to request Pakistanis specially those living abroad to boycott Indian movies (not watch in cinemas). This might be a small hit to a big Indian economy but I think it might be satisfying for patriotic Pakistanis that at least they did something and not just lament about the situation."

He is trying to appeal to Pakistani's patriotic side and nowhere does he talk about the "quality" of Bollywood movies. I am just suggesting a way to implement his suggestion ;)

By trying to bring in quality of Bollywood, you are digressing :p

Yours truly,

Einstein :)

Re: Boycott Bollywood movies

:CareBear: As expected of indians and their media, a total distortion of facts. Pakistani government has never accepted that it was planned in pakistan it is still doing the investigation. But as usual, indians have jumped the gun and put the balme on pakistan. Have a look into your own backyard. There are more than hundred separatist movements going on in india. I guess you’re the one who’s living in denial mode for decades. Slumdog is your true face.

Here’s what the indians are saying about the mumbai drama…we don’t even need to say more LOL your own people don’t buy the crap Pornywod style story
