Dear Qrius :flower1: Of course you are not too late to join!  i was actually secretly hoping you would see this thread and want to join

We are in the process of picking out a book to read. Do you have any suggestions you would like to make? It can be a book regarding South Asia, its cultures and religions, anything to do with Muslim cultures - any novel along those types of lines. Fiction or nonfiction - as long as it is an interesting read. Deviliciousss has kindly posted the suggestions so far (above this post) - if you see any book that appeals to you most strongly, please do vote for it if you want in this thread.

The last date to vote is this friday may 23rd 2003

My vote: fasting, feasting

Hmm, actually I think god of small things is a better choice for me cuz I can get that from the library.

Nadia, hehe..ok :) I prefer to read a book that's being assigned..coz i can't recommend as i haven't read literature and fiction...but i would love to read something now.

Deviliciousss, we'll read them all one by one..for the time being..pick one..and we'll read that :-)

I have a question for all of you folks..do you folks get books from libraries or you buy them?

read * Blasphemy *. i liked it

 Good idea, Deviliciousss :k: Unfortunately i’m a bit pressed for time right now, but later this morning (in about five or so hours) i will Insha’Allah try to make a tally of all the votes thus far. That will help us to keep track of which book(s) have received the greater number of votes.

By Tehmina Durrani?
Mannnnn, I had a hard time finishing that book.
Very sad :(

thanx 4 the explaination develicious. i will be an observer of the group to find out exactly what happens.

hello everyone,

soundz like a great idea :k: when do we start??

my nomination is “Floreana”. It’s the true story of a German couple in teh 1930s who left everything and moved to Floreana, an island in the remote Galapagos Islands where they built everything from scratch, with their bare hands. i believe it inspired the plot for Robinson Crusoe.

anyone read Jonathan Livingston Seagull? i bet we could have a raging discussion on that..
