Seeing her bides, i dont find anything striking or interesting in her make up....she does so much signature make....smokey eyes and dull lipstick....i actually find her makeup dull and boring!

She did an AMAZING job Alhamdulilah. The atmosphere was great, all the workers very nice (though the girl who did my hair was a little harried), and Bina was super super nice and very professional. She did a FABULOUS job with the base, my skin looked fantastic, and the initial pictures look really nice, Alhamdulillah. So yeah, I am quite pleased. :)
you have NO idea how relieved i am to read this post!!! I booked Bina Khan for my december wedding at the insistence of my in-laws (karachi-ites) because i had no idea about MUAs in karachi....and reading all the negative opinions scared me so much!!! I'm not a heavy-makeup fan nor do i wear makeup regularly (nor does it generally suit me), maybe once in a blue moon so I thought she'd be a good option..now perhaps not so much :S And I already booked her too so theres no backing out :( I hope she's not really that rude/arrogant/non-compromising...the receptionist I called seemed quite haughty though :(
Would she be open to considering a print-out of what I want to look like?

***You can always take it when you go over for services or for your big day. She might look at it but MUAs are pretty set in their ways. She does a good natural looking job, though.
Did you book her for photography as well? Esp. for getting ready pics that very selected few of Karachi brides get.***

She doesn't have a very varied portfolio for photography but my aunt chose some portrait options. I'll only find out when I go there if it includes getting ready pics =/ I want natural-looking MU but wouldn't want to look brown/boring/plain and now im having second thoughts even though Iv given the 50% advance.
Isnt there anyone else here who's had a hands-down positive experience there?

Hey Nene23. Just read your post... I think you should be OK taking a picture along. Just be polite about it. I think she can take things a bit too personally sometimes, but as long as you're not rude and aren't explicitly telling her how to do her job, you should be OK. And if you don't like something, speak up, it is your right as a paying client. As for the not wanting to look brown/beige/boring: a lot of that depends on your clothes. She really looks at the colors you're wearing before she decides your look, so if you can, make sure your clothes are in colors you like... I'm sure you'll look beautiful IA. :)

Nene23, I can't upload a picture because my friend wouldn't like it. But my friend just got her make up done from Bina Khan about a month ago and I cannot explain how absolutely beautiful she looked.
As a point of comparison, she got makeup done on 3 days: 2 from Shamain and 1 from Bina Khan. And the guests as well as the bride were in absolute agreement that Bina Khan's makeup was much better.
Bina Khan really takes the colors of the outfit into consideration and though she does have a penchant for smoky eyes and soft lips but it almost always works. And I love how she didn't go for a traditionally black smoky eye but a very contemporary teal green.

I would never recommend bina khan to anyone...here is why! (Wish I had known this before). 1. She is extremely rude and extremely sarcastic. If you want to feel like crap emotionally then go to her on ur big day. 2. All her makeup you see pics of on her group, she has edited. It looks like she hasn't but I showed to my friends who were photographers who told me that and also considering she has been doing photography for long and now has a studio 3. She never takes pics of brides who don't look good, she never even asked me if she can take my pic whereas she took the bride before me her pic..she will only show that 5 percent of the brides who look good not all of them..I felt a bit hurt 4. She is overpriced 5. Her makeup is brown and she makes you look tan but more that her makeup is so light its like party makeup not bridal

^I felt the same thing i.e she puts up the pics of the brides who turn out very well and not of those who didn't, actually if u check out her page there are mostly pics which she has posted and some 4-5 pics which her clients have posted themselves.
I felt that the pics posted by the clients were not so good, maybe because they are not close-ups but still...

I seriously don't understand why MUA's in Pakistan have a crappy attitude! Here in the west i Have never meet any pakistan MUA with a crappy attitude, they are so nice and make your day even better because they are exstremly nice to you and you get SO relaxed around them because they listen to you ....

The women posted here look lovely, but from what I have seen, BK does a decent job, but other MUAs do better for brides, especially given the deep and rich colors brides tend to wear. BK's work often makes them look washed out and colorless.

^agreed! I think she makes wonderfull custom-made shade of red to suit the bride’s skin-tone keeping in mind the red of the outfit, Overall I think her make-up is understated and elegant, not something that would scream out ‘hey! I’ve got make-up on ma face’, I just love the way she does smokey eye with brown bcoz that way when u lower your eye-lids they wont be unsightly racoon black.
