Hi guys. I’ve already booked Bina Khan for my wedding in June, but I’m slightly worried about her attitude now. Someone in my family is taking make-up classes from her, and told me that she can be quite rude, and answers questions with a real attitude. And she’s said in her blogs too that she expects her clients to trust her, which is fine, but I’m just wondering if there are any Bina Khan brides around who could put me at ease. I don’t want to be arguing with my MUA (or even be scolded by her!) on my wedding day, and I hope Bina’s attitude is limited to just her students. So what I basically want to know is: is she open to ideas? Questions from her clients? Is she rude to the brides? Please tell me about your experiences!
Re: Bina Khan experiences.
lol thats scary! why do makeup artists become such divas? it's ure big day, last thing u want to worry about is hurting your MUA's feelings!!
i was thinking of booking her for my valima, lets see what feedback we get on her!
Re: Bina Khan experiences.
Exactly! I'm sure I'll have enough on my mind besides having to worry about offending her!
If you do find out anything, please share!

I am not sure in which city you are but if you are in Pindi Islamabad then for make you can try Jugnu waseem.
She's not very open to the brides' idea's..she'll do exactly what she wants to do!
Re: Bina Khan experiences.
^Yeh. All the brides look good but she does always do the same kind of makeup. Great if it suits you, not so good if you;d look even better without her signature smokey eye type makeup.
Re: Bina Khan experiences.
Thank you for the info. Any other bina khan brides around with more info?
Re: Bina Khan experiences.
I think saratem314 was a Bina Khan bride but she never came back with her review.
Re: Bina Khan experiences.
I just PM'ed her, I hope she replies. This whole situation is getting me down. :(
Re: Bina Khan experiences.
All those brides on her FB group seem really satisfied with her work. One of my senior colleagues got her engagement makeup from her and was pretty satisfied with Bina Khan's attitude.
Re: Bina Khan experiences.
Apparently Bina explained today why she'd been rude the other day... apparently snotty clients who came in trying to show they know better than her put her off. ABCDs etc. I suppose that's understandable?
Re: Bina Khan experiences.
why her salon is only in karachi?
Re: Bina Khan experiences.
^She thinks that her makeup would be considered too subtle for any city other than Karachi.
Re: Bina Khan experiences.
I like her makeup, but I do think it's really monotonous. I mean, she pretty much does the same chocolate-brown smoky eyes with kajal with soft pink lips on EVERYBODY. The good part about that is that it's the sort of makeup one can never go wrong with, meaning it looks good on everyone, especially us desi's. But her makeup doesn't really show any technique or anything special. The latest bride featured on her Facebook page is wearing the same sea-green Sana Safinaz jora I wore in my baat pakki, and she did some really blah brown makeup on her, which was a pity because it's such a vibrant jora with silver, sea-green and turquoise in it! I feel like Aliya Tipu did an amazing job on that day for me in bringing out the colors in her makeup and technically she's very sound, she put 3 or 4 shades of green and turquoise in my eyes with soft peach lips. Its amazing how makeup can make an outfit look completely different!
Re: Bina Khan experiences.
^My final 2 choices were actually Aliya Tipu and Bina. But the pictures I was shown at Aliya Tipu's put me off a little bit, and I felt her make-up style was a little too loud for me. I barely use make-up anyway, and I think I'd feel very awkward suddenly having so much plastered on on such a big day. Hope that makes sense! :)
Re: Bina Khan experiences.
oh my gwad, i've met her and she is a snob! she is a diva! its all gone to her head i reckon.
my cousin was booked with her last year and she wore white. when bina came in, she looked like she had woken up with her messy hair tied up quickly! she said no salaam to her client and quickly slapped on some eye-make which she did in like 3 mins and left the room!!! we were waiting for her for ages but she didn't come back! then her assistant said she will take over!! bina rushed my cousins eye-make and it didn't match at all and it was far too simple for a wedding! we called for her to come back and politely told her we wanted to change the eye-make NOT that we didn't like it, which we didn't but we didn't want to be rude about it! it was like talking to a wall! she was staring at us probably dreaming of sleep or something! then she spoke at last and said there was nothing wrong with the eye-make just that my cousin was nervous or something. bina put horrible red colour on the eyelids, which we couldn't understand at all! it was horrible! on top it was too simple, which bina said was in fashion, okay but my cousin also needed to look like a bride! bina refused to change it which kind of made us laugh until we realised she was serious!! my cousin couldn't speak good urdu and was more confident speaking english, so when she spoke to bina in english, that got bina started! bina wouldn't listen to us and was so rude to my cousin, refusing to change it saying she was booked for other clients!
i called auntie in and three of us were arguing with bina! finally the silly woman gave in and decided to change my cousins make-up! she was throwing the brushes around and shouting at her assistants. made us all jumpy how rude and stressed she was.
after changing the make-up bina simply left without looking at us! when we got to the counter, the assistant said we would be charged extra! we laughed that off and didn't pay any extra money!
so it was a horrible experience with her and she is over-priced as well. rs 1000/- just to get eyebrows done by her! a joke!
new brides - don't tell her what look you want - she chooses what look to give you.
and she gets threatned with british accents too so speak in broken urdu if you have to and want to save from being bashed by her!! lol! i think ANYONE can do her make-up. its nothing special at all.
but to be fair i know others who have had good experiences with her. i guess we caught her on a really crap day but she should have been professional and calm.
Re: Bina Khan experiences.
what the hell?! you know, I had a feeling she's getting too snobby by all the people's compliments on her facebook page going to her head. you could tell in the beginning she was really down-to-earth and actually cared about her job, but sadly as per usual her popularity has gone to her head and even her comments and replies to her members on her FB page are becoming more and more snobbish and rude. I seriously don't understand why people in Pakistan let things get to their heads so quickly. Her makeup isn't even THAT great. With the right makeup and tools, it could pretty much be achieved by anyone.

Try looking into Shamain and Mubashir as well, if you normally don't wear much makeup you might like their style!
Re: Bina Khan experiences.
i don't believe half those comments on her facebook page! they must be her assistants or best friends commenting and praising the floor she walks on!

Honestly the majority of young girls are just impressed by how "cool" and "modern" she acts. Since the majority of other MUA are older, and she potrays herself to be young and hip. Basically to cover up her lack of range and technique. I mean, paying around 18,000 for engagement makeup that literally looks like you just washed your face, put some kajal on and smeared on some lipgloss?! And it gets 13 compliments on her page? PUH-LEASE!!! And don't even get me started on how tight she pulls the hair back on brides...they look like their half bald...
