PakistaniCinema Exclusive: #BinRoye](Facebook) beats WAAR (the movie)'s Highest Opening Weekend for a Pakistani film in the UK!
(Since the revival of Cinema)
I decided to steer clear of this one because it looked all too 'Indianised' to me. I mean since when do Muslim women wear sleeveless and clothes where their bellies, where their backs are put on view ? If this is said to be normal, then that's the coming of an end to our culture.
Watched it to support our film industry and was not disappointed!! Yes story was predictable, the editing could have been finer, timing sequence was unclear, there could've more character development etc. BUT despite all that, it was enjoyable. Music is catchy. Mahira was stunning, she's grown as an actor, a different role from the mellow ones she's done previously. Humayoon Saeed was fit for the role he was given to play, he did well. Overall 7/10 from me.
OMG … I suspect you try to get a reaction out of everyone.
Because if anything in Bin Roye upset you about our culture then the problem isn’t our cutlure.
And what rock do you live under if you’ve never seen pakistani women dress like this movie. Oh heck she had on shalwar kameez for liek 98% of the movie.
Don’t steer the thread in this direction please. let us enjoy something good happy and wholesome.
SO sick and tired of movies like Bol - every women is oppressed everything must be all doom and gloom.
Or War - were the scenes are choppy and the acting over the top at the least – and the whole movie is made solely to fight sterotypes by feeding into them. :smh:
Iss hei liya Pakistan ka bala nahi hota - our biggest critics are always within.
I saw it last night and I agree with Sahar...I enjoyed it! I'd give it a solid 7.5 out of 10. Direction and editing was a little wonky in certain places and the last 5-10 minutes of Humayoun Saeed's dialogues left me scratching my head, but overall I LOVED the cinematography, music, sets and Mahira!!! I don't watch many Pakistani movies (or Indian for that matter!) so I was pleasantly surprised!

Muslims did not descend straight from the heavans onto planet earth. Most Muslims from this part of the world were converted from Hindus and the Hindu influence is only natural in everything from our food to our dresses. So I don't know what culture you are referring to since our culture is but a conglomeration of different influences and that a large part of it owes to Hindu influence can not be denied. Neither does it spell the end of our culture; rather the beginning I'd say.
btw all shows for Bin roye and Wrong No are going housefull which is such great news considering the simultaneous release of bajrangi Bhaijaan. And what kind of a name is Bin Roye???

In your sense, there is no culture exclusive to Pakistan, part of our society evolved off reverts 2-3 generations back, if not more, and the effect still is evident. No bud, people with your string of mindsets keep the foreign ethics aligned to your your liking. Being Muslim to your own convenience i.e like saying "I believe in Allah, but, I also stand for nudity."Note how you're justifying it ? Sheer Hypocrisy. I fear 1-2 more generations from now, your like of people are going to grow out of religion, even fight against it, that's the beginning you're spelling out, yeah ?
Humayun peaked years ago and people only reminisce about his early dramas. That is why I have a hard time seeing him play lead opposite the likes of Mahira. The chemistry isn't there.
the reason neeyat was such a disaster was because HS and MK hve zero chemistry!! They suck together.

firstly what rock have you been living under your entire life? secondly religion and culture are two very different things (which you seem to be mixing in your statement). This IS our culture. get over it or move to saudi-land (unless you are already there)

Culture is a derivative of Religion. Ever heard the saying, "Islam is not just a religion, it's a way of life." No ? So much for calling yourself a Muslim.

I understand your point. Of course nudity should not be allowed or encouraged. I'm myself against dances. But the reason I liked Bin ROye was that it is the most shareefana type of film made in recent times. It was not at all indianised like other films. Even waar had some unnecessary cringeworthy scenes but in bin roye one could see the director tried to make a clean family film. There was no perversion. It is comparatively a very clean family movie and of course it's underlying message was beautiful.
Bilkul sahi. Waar 's script was terrible. There were some unncessary vulgar scenes and dance. The saving grace was the technical edge it had and Shan and Shamoon’s acting. Also, films like Bol are just negative portrayals of our people. Don’t like them at all. For us, Bin Roye is fresh breeze in desert.
