I know you hate BB even after her death. Her will be read tomorrow to decide who would take over. Till such time may I ask you to shut up for few hours. Will you?
Re: Bilawal Zardari made PPP new chairman?
Sir you looking at this froma different view. THere is no comparison to ZAB times when he was murdered and when BB was assassinated.
i agree.
THe break up will be due to Zardaris unpopularity as Reza already has stated.
and that is why I am suggesting that the party needs to have succession plans for all its leaders. and they can decide whether they want to run PPP as the largest serious political party or as a fuedal families side venture. they can refuse Zardari , and they should. I think several ppl ahve already pointed to aitezaz as the best option right now, but is teh party going to get out of its own way and do the right thing?
Regarding IK, how can you expect a person to be confronted, who is enjoying his days in India, while going under cover for the last important days of the election campaigns. THis was the time to gain popularity, he did nothing.
I am not sure i follow you, please elaborate.
Kennedys would have been in power in US for a couple of years If one of them would be alive now. US government never let this happen to succeed. We see simliarities don"t we?
ted kennedy did not get close to presidency, other kennedys also played their roles in politics but not as the top dawg.
georgy boy is son of Bush. HIllary the wife of Clinton...arent these decisions family based as well?
they are to some level, although in hillary's case she has been active politically for ages, she still has to fend off ppl like Obama and her being presidential candidate is not a guarantee.
but they are exceptions. think of carter, bush #1, reagan, nixon, what big political dynasties did they have behind them?
Re: Bilawal Zardari made PPP new chairman?
On Geo they are saying Bhutto factor would play a major role, so Sanam bhutto could be the one to lead the party
Re: Bilawal Zardari made PPP new chairman?
. Her will be read tomorrow to decide who would take over.
her will? why woukld her will be imporrtant in who she wants to lead the party. The party needs to make that decision and they have candidates like aitezaz in front of them. why is her will the critical decisionpoint? Did she not indicate her second in command while living, or was she afraid that the second in command would tiopple her. if she had a second in command then thats the person who leads the party, until a new chairperson can be formally elected. As I said, its the moment of decision for PPP, do they want to be a real political party and go with best leaders or wait fore their ex chairperson's 'will'

Aitezaz is an option, but there are some traditions to be respected at PPP. As I said there is no force on accepting those, but Aitezaz knows well how PPP is run.

IK has proven to be a coward finally and has done nothing to damage the stronghold of PMLQ, while NS and BB tried a bit.
There is no way he can be confronted from PPPs view. He better confront PPP himself. Getting me?!

And JFK?! I dont see him on the list of your discussion. Where is Robert, who finally endet in a plane crash?!

So you do agree that at least there are some "few", who used the popularity of their husbands, fathers, sons. A back ground is needed in Pak politics. You should know that.

This is uncalled for...they've shown no disrespect towards her thus far. Lets please just respect and address each other in such manner, and have a civil debate. :)
Thanks bro
Re: Bilawal Zardari made PPP new chairman?
He will be the next chairman inshallah!! He will be our future PM. If he is not assassinated by the same powers, who murdered his mother brutality.
He is 17 years old kido, did he even know where is lahore or quetta located ?. Come on people, this is too much.
Re: Bilawal Zardari made PPP new chairman?
It is a great opportunity for PPP to break the dynasty mould which has been set in all our parties by introducing democracy within the party and have an elected leader.
Re: Bilawal Zardari made PPP new chairman?

so yioa re saying PPP is not run on merit?

I cant say I fully disagree, but he took a principled stance, even if we dont agree with him, and he is well respected and trusted, so why not?
And JFK?! I dont see him on the list of your discussion. Where is Robert, who finally endet in a plane crash?!
we had covered kennedy's in previous discussions, but the point was that there has been no kennedy president since JFK, others played political roles, and still do but are not presidential candidates in each election.
So you do agree that at least there are some "few", who used the popularity of their husbands, fathers, sons. A back ground is needed in Pak politics. You should know that.
no more than a handful.
and aitezaz has a background already, he has held top leadership positions he can be banked upon. That would be a good choice. do we want right leadership or leadership that can appeal to ppl who go after the name? what is the right solution.
Re: Bilawal Zardari made PPP new chairman?

Acha, so you all think the Chairman is finally also the actual "leading" figure. Quite funny.
Re: Bilawal Zardari made PPP new chairman?
Her will be read tomorrow to decide who would take over.
So party leaderships are decided by a dead person's will, and not the democratic leadership elections? So much for the democracy talk.
Re: Bilawal Zardari made PPP new chairman?

yep thats what i heard aswell but is sanam in politics or?
Re: Bilawal Zardari made PPP new chairman?
If Zardari is any smarter or well-wisher of the Party, then he'll stay out of the politicking within the party and let there be a mutual agreement led by logic.
Zardari...
former, not the latter, :)

Sir, ask Pakistanis in Pakistan how much respect there is for IK. Right now his support is low as ever and he is repsonsible for It only. No one else. There is no priniciple in politics, when elections are on.

Politics is more complex than you think at times. THere are ppl who believe in traditions. And ppl make votes. Getting me?! Aitezaz has a lot of support but Is nothing without the Bhutto label or Bhuttos blood. Thats politics and even a party like PPP will never risk that.
Re: Bilawal Zardari made PPP new chairman?

I am speechless...:)
Re: Bilawal Zardari made PPP new chairman?
I don't wanna spoil the discussion.. but what will happened about the corruption done by ppp? ..
Re: Bilawal Zardari made PPP new chairman?
On Geo they are saying Bhutto factor would play a major role, so Sanam bhutto could be the one to lead the party
Sanam has shown little or no interest in politics in all these years, and has largely stayed above the family and political feuds. Her coming into the fray will not go down well with Zardari, who whether we like or not is the man that has the influence over the leadership at the moment.

A person who has no problem with an otherwise hated dictator, who has been in power for 8 years through illegal means, and wants to continue for another 5 shouldnt be asking such questions.
