Bengalis and Pakis are brothers.

In the UK we get on very well with Bengalis, we pray shoulder to shoulder in the same Mosques and we are buried next to each other in the same graveyards...

I grew up with Banglas, they have the hottest foods and the hottest looks.

We've left Islamabad and Dhaka behind us now, this is our country now and Brit born Paki-descent and Brit born Bangla-descent have a lot more in common than they don't.

Some Bengalis are dark (South Bangladesh) and very hot in their chocolatey way, they have very nice eyes and very nice features...

North Bangladeshis are very fair, even fairer than Pakistanis, they have a lot of Mongloid/Oriental and Iranian blood mixed into them, one of my best friends is one of these, he has blue slanted eyes and flawless creamy Paki colored skin, the reason I first got talking to him was because I assumed he was a fellow Pathan but he's got a nice slim built rather than the stocky builds we have.

Some of the biggest heart throbs (both amongst the guys n girls) at my college were Bengalis.

My people are fair by Paki standards (Pashtun and NW-Punjabi) but I tend to find it a bit bland.

You get fugly and beautiful ppl in every race in equal quantities, every race is beautiful in its own way.

Some dark ppl are the most nakshi/good-featured in the world and dark skin is so hot.

I'm sure any girl would rather than have a dark skinned guy with flawless skin than a fair skinned guy with black hair all over his body (like most our NW-Punjabi/Pashtun/Kashmiri brothers)...

Pakis need to sort your racist attitudes out.

The Prophet (may the peace and blessings of God be upon him)'s Companions (may God be pleased with them) were Ethiopians, Romans, Iranians and Arabs who all intermarried with the Prophet's blessings.

The Prophet (may the peace and blessings of God be upon him) encouraged inter-racial, inter-ethnic and inter-tribal marriages to purge out racism and strengthen the Muslim Ummah and we should be doing the same.

We have linguistic differences but other than that all Muslims today are the same, we live in a global village and our cultures are the same, the language problem can be overcome by learning each others languages and using Arabic as a language of inter-ethnic communication amongst the Ummah...

...Imagine we had one language uniting us whther we're Turkish, Bosnian, Bengali, Malaysian, Somalian, Chinese-Hui, Chinese-Uyghur, Pakistani, Gujarati...etc.!

First you say im not Pakistani then go on to say Pakistanis need to sort out their racist attitudes, i think you need to sort out what you intend on saying beforehand. Don't ever compare a Kashmiri women to a Bengali, its like comparing an angel to a dog. Our women are known throughout our land for their beauty and honestly having been to many various places in Pakistan, the only people who can compete with our women on beauty are Chitralis, who are stunning themselves.

I come from a very fair skinned family who have many different eye colour shades but we don't have a complex at all, i would happily marry a Mirpuri who are tanned in colour and my family would be happy aslong as she's from a religious and well educated family.

Its you Bengali that have the complex constantly running after white women to get rid of your black colour.

On a final note, we don't get along at all. Here in b'ham bengali dont say anything because they honestly would get fubard by the population of Mpz n Chachis. I have a couple mates studying at Barts and throughout their first year they had constant problems with Bengali and had to call mates down on a regular basis and even fought outside Whitechapel.

Nosherwan i bet your a bengali trying to hide your root and make Pakistanis like you, i can understand your ashamed, i would be aswell if i was a Benga.

I was going to post up a pic of my brother's fiance who's 100% Bengali to refute Shameonme's pont that Bengalis are 'fugly' and dark (she's not porcelain fair but not even the 'medium' brown the majority of Pakistanis are in the UK) but didn't want want to without asking her permission first. She's been asked to model for Asiana magazine (who incidentally like to use Bengali girls for their covers as they tend to have more 'model-like' features, the smaller button noses, more chiselled etc) but I guess Shamus has that old backwards desi idea of beauty that measures looks according to a Dulux shade chart whereby having white skin but a nose like gonzo makes a person super attractive..

Like Nosherwan has pointed out Bengalis come in many different shades from very dark to very fair like Indians and Pakistanis (if the skin colour difference was so obvious and only Pakistanis were really generally fairer, how come the average Brit can't even tell the difference between a Pakistani an Indian and a Bengali?) Ask a white person to distinguish between the average Pakistani and Indian up in Birmingham and I can guarantee he won't be able to.

Oh, and Shamus, I didn't report u that last time, stupidly it didn't even cross my mind and it was mods as well as us 'normal' posters who pulled u up on the BS u were spouting in Life1 (Sara was **one **of those mods), u obviousy managed to p*ss others off a lot more than me. i know how Pakistanis and other minorities are treated in Arab countries and to be honest
if you ask me i would not like to live in ME or Arab country i am not always happy with the West but Arabs should be ashamed of themself how they are mistreating foreighners and Pakistanis.

But there must be something good about the Arabs??!!! Just like with every country they have good and bad things.

But anyone who idolizes the Arabs for their character or just being an Arab i think they should think twice. I think most people respect Arabs because

All I am saying is that Pakistanis should stop trying so hard to appease Gulf Arabs when they don't give them a chance. Be yourself, be proud of your own indigenous culture. Islam doesn't require you to be a splitting image of a Bedouin.

And I'm not saying to be fully Western either. I don't want Pakistan to look like Saudi Arabia or Yemen (unlike Nosherwan here).

P.S. My main beef is with Gulf Arabs who are Wahabi/Salafi. Egypt is fast on its way of becoming like Afghanistan under the Taliban as well with the mount of ninja women everywhere.

I don't know wether you remember something about our past conversations and agressive discussions but if you do then you also know that I am totally against Wahabi/Salafi cum Taliban brand of Islam.

But as i agree with you about Arabs and how Pakistani want to look like Arabs don't u think

that disliking is one thig but when you say "bedouins" then you are condescending the Arabs.

And just like Arabs should not idiolise the Arabs they also should not idolise the West (which they do).

I am not talking about the good thinks because we can learn alot from the West there is no doubt about it that they are succesful after years or Wars they had they rule the world because they use their brain and have learned from the past.

well about the Ninja women .........you are again condescending those who volunteerly want to wear niqaab. I myself think its not neccessary to wear niqaab but it should not be forces upon women because in Islam (as far as i know) "niqaab" is not obligatory.

Jahaan par Arab countries mein bad things hain there are bad things about Pakistan also (unfortunatly). Just look at cast / zaat / sect / ethnicity discrimination.

Just look how we treat Afghans, Bengalis, Shia's (i am not a Shia myself) and how they patronize other languages besides URDU.

As far as our own 'indigenous' culture is concerned, its far from perfect. Our culture is not flawless and is very discriminatory aswell.
Pakistanis in general also disagree with a lot of the stuff in arab culture. Most people here especially women totaly oppose the idea of polygamy that is so common in arab culture.
You can have your beef with anyone but that doesn't mean that your culture is any better. its much easier to point fingers at others.
FYI, many ninja women are by choice. yeah it would be wrong to force someone but then again, so many forced thigns happen in our culture so lets not even begin on womens right

I try my best to make a distinction between different variances of Arab culture. I want to say my biggest beef is with the Gulf Arab culture that is derived from Salafism. I have no problem with Levantine/shami Arab culture, since they are more liberal than the Salafi ones.

The 'ninja women' choose to do so because they think anyone who doesn't wear a niqaab is automatically a "whore". A hijab is enough, anything more is too excessive and simply shows that they want to adopt Salafism which is alien to Muslim countries outside of Arabia.

Pakistanis go to Middle east to EARN money. Not just pakistanis, plenty of Indians, philipinos, malaysians , indonesians, all go to middle east for financial reasons. So many doctors in our family have moved to different gulf states because they get paid more. No one goes there because they like arab culture more. Bottomline is you go where you offered higher salary so you can support your family.
Pakitani politicans are shameless. They would accept aid from anyone. Thats all they want. doesnt matter whos giving them the aid as long as they can fill up their pockets.
For you hijab is enough, but for many women it may not be. And many people automaticaly asume a girl who isnt wearing a hijab is a whore? anyone can assume anything. In some cultures its a norm to wear niqab, while in some just a dupata is enough.

What makes you think pakistani culture is any better than arab? How are women treated here? What about all those forced marriage and honor killings done in our society? What about women not being able to get any education because their sole purpose is to get married and bear kids and be a slave to inlaws? HOW can you not see all this unfairness to women but a niqab is evil?

Anyway, my point was that Pakistanis are in no way better than Arabs. Anyone who thinks that is clearly delusional. We all have issues and intolerance, hatred, discrimination, gender bias is equally as common here.
