KKF story is other way around. Christian Missionaries targeted lower class people, when they came in united India. In Pakistani areas like Sialkot, etc the majority of the people who converted to Christianity were related this profession. Their acceptance of new faith didn't change their financial status much.
I used to live in mehmoodabad (Karachi). There is an area near Mehmoodabad called Azam basti. Majority of the people who lived in Azam basti are Christians who are still related to this profession.*

were not they lower caste hindus who used to handle leather? Again my apoligies but after all Barhamin pujari sahab does need his sandals and jooties so someone needs to handle that leather.
Brahmin nevers wore leather, infact leather is prohibited in Hinduism in temple premises, Brahmin wore wooden sandals called "Khadaun", they never wore anything remotely related to animal fat, skin or meat:)

Conversion hardly changed anything, one can find high caste christians and low caste christians as well, just like castes are there in both hindus and muslims:)

hmmm yeah
