SGC - Do you know of anyone who's hired Stephen Sager and / or have you seen his work yourself? We did like his albums and his pics. But we don't know of anyone who's worked with him and wanted to check what he's like to work with on the wedding etc. So I would appreciate any info. You're right about no second shooter but as our wedding is small that works for us.

His quote was $995 for a 6-7hr coverage, 2 videographers, edited video
With photographers - yes, I've been able to get discounts - mainly because I am part of the wedding industry

Thanks for that info Noor! Funnily enough, I heard of Art of video from a friend also recently. She's going to be having them for her wedding this coming weekend. They're charging her $ 1500. I just gave them a call also and they quoted me $ 1500 for my Saturday event for 6 hrs, one videographer (one camera) and $ 500 minimum for the Thursday event, $ 500 for 3 hrs. I spoke to Dal also. Did you get an industry discount here too?

I think they have a minimum for a Saturday wedding. My wedding reception is on a Sunday afternoon - maybe that's why he gave me a cheaper rate?
I don't think his quote of 995 was with an industry discount because I never told him that I was a makeup artist (perhaps I should have!)
However, I did give him both my sisters names- & they have referred a few people to him already, maybe that's why he said 995?

Yup, he shot my brother’s wedding this summer. The pictures are very nice quality-wise and he has a good eye- But if you’re looking for documentary style pictures or something more in the style of Mimmo + Naz or Christian Oth style, then you’d have to look elsewhere. He’s a nice guy and easy to work with. He himself is a second shooter at times for the more documentary style photographers in the industry which is commendable. My bro and SIL are very happy with the results.
Edited: Just saw the mehendi pictures and he did an excellent job with them, esp the candids!!
Oh and yes, you can absolutely negotiate with ANY vendor. They might not bring down the price but they may throw in an engagement shoot, an album or something equal to that. Definitely speak to them about the price and see what they can offer you.

I loved working with her. She is very understanding and tried to work with what I had in mind. I had her cover my mehndi, NIkah and Valima. She was very professional and retuned all calls on time and tried to work around my budget.

for three days we came to around 4 K i think. (maybe a little more... I dont remember the exact price....sorry)
BUT
there were a lot of factors for our price.
we had our wedding in the off season
our 3 functions were very small and intimate (the biggest one being 180 ppl and the smallest one being 45 ppl) I thinnk that makes a diff
we did not get anything from her except for cds ( with a couple of hundred pics on each CD). and a few bigger prints...went with shutterfly for the printing . We were on a very limited budget but she very understanding and was a joy to work with.
Any feedback on Ross Creative Photography in Toronto / GTA?
Hi all,
Getting married soon and was considering going with Ross Creative Photography… has anyone had any positive/negative experiences? Would really like feedback if anyone has any to offer.
What attracts us to his work is the “dark” imagery and stylized effects (see the bottom-right image and the middle image of his homepage)
Thanks a lot - look forward to hearing thoughts (as well as any suggestions on who has a similar style in Toronto - Z Molu, Dave Abreu, Garima Singh, and Dmitri Markine are all already booked)

Hey all - this was a very useful thread! Has anyone had any experience dealing with Ross Creative Photography... we've heard mixed things but really like his style... any positive or negative feedback appreciated!

^ I didn't like Ross. One of my fiances friends got married and I was at all 3 of their events... and was not impressed... I'm not sure how the pictures turned out cuz the couple hasn't gotten them yet.. so my review is strictly based on customer service skills
Ross is nice himself ... but the second photographer he hired was a nightmare!
I heard that he stopped taking pictures at one of the rasms during the Mehendi because he needed a break
Based on their customer service skills (lack of)... I wouldn't go with them.
Unless Ross himself can somehow assure you that won't happen to you...
but thats just me. I'm big on client relationship/customer service

DO NOT use ross... he did not show up to my cousins wedding and sent another guy instead. At another wedding... he didn't give them their pictures till a year later... and those were done with out any editing he had promised.

Thanks for the feedback... I am fairly certain we can get assurances he will be on-site for our events, but I am more worried about the post-editing.
Did the other person get a storybook/slideshow made? If so, when were the RAW images delivered for selection?

We've booked fotoflare photography for our wedding next year - Their in Hamilton and I can say that it was worth the drive to meet Lucas. Amazing work and not overly expensive, just my 2 cents
