Re: Best Wedding Photographer/Videography in Toronto, Markham, MIssiauga, Brampton, e
yah, Im totally into the urban look for pics. I love the pics you posted! I was also thinking about just finding some random places downtown (the graffiti walls sound really good!) to take pics...i dont want too formal of a setting for the pics, cause the rest of the pictures from the reception are going to be quite posed.
My nikkah is at the masjid, but the masjid sits on farm land, so in the back of the large lot, there are some run down barns still, and I wanted to do my nikkah photography there. I thought that would look super amazing!
that will look amazing, agreed! what masjid is this? is it in the GTA?
Re: Best Wedding Photographer/Videography in Toronto, Markham, MIssiauga, Brampton, e
^ yah, its in Richmond Hill, Islamic Society of York Region. North of the city (Stouffville Rd and Leslie). I just hope there isnt too much snow on the ground outside, cause getting to the barns will be a problem then, but inside of them will look great I hope!
Re: Best Wedding Photographer/Videography in Toronto, Markham, MIssiauga, Brampton, e
if its a working barn, it won't be pretty. might be a good idea to check it out beforehand and plan some sort of props/decor. if you end up working with sara baig, i'm sure she'd love to tackle that project too!
Re: Best Wedding Photographer/Videography in Toronto, Markham, MIssiauga, Brampton, e
As my fiance really doesn't care about having a video, I'm thinking of getting a good photographer (we both want really greats pics) but someone really cheap to do the video. For video I would like to pay $ 1,000 CAD max - I know that means it won't be the best quality of course. So far every place I have checked for video is very expensive. I'd like to even get someone just starting out, amateur videographer etc. Anyone know of someone in the GTA who would do video for cheap? Thanks!

Noor - I checked with Renaissance also and while I liked their pics, I didn't that they didn't give you all the pics that they take during the wedding. They only give you 300 pics with the cheaper package and 600 pics with the more expensive package. They told me they would charge me an extra $ 900 for all pics taken at wedding, which all photographers include for free. That's why I didn't end up going to meet them in person. Did you decide on your photgrapher already or are you still looking?
Also, are you going to get a videographer and if so have you met with anyone for that yet? Thanks!
Re: Best Wedding Photographer/Videography in Toronto, Markham, MIssiauga, Brampton, e
I agree - this is a big issue with Renaissance. I also got a quote from them & didn’t find them reasonable enough for my wedding.
There’s another photographer whose work I admire : Life Images: lifeimages.ca
I didn’t get a quote from them because their starting price is already way above my budget !
I haven’t booked my wedding photographer yet - but I will be meeting with Najah from Najah Photography soon. It’s a little hard to get a hold of her though…so we will see where it goes. I think communication & customer service is extremely important.
Have you booked anyone yet?
I’m not big on videography - I’m actually going to decide on that very last. I have a backup videographer who will charge under $1000 so I’m good

my brother and bhabhi were getting their anniversary pics done, and shopped around with the indian photographers first. They gave him quotes that were waaay over, and would change their quotes every time he called.
He finally found this italian guy that took the pictures. They went down to Port Credit and got some really nice shots! The photographer then took the pictures and had them sent to Italy where he made an amazing album out of them. It looks like a coffee table book.

My brother got married this summer and we went with Kuljit Rehal. Just got to see the proofs this past weekend and we loved the pics (and they are not even touched up yet!)! He did a great job and had a great attitude. He took lots of candid pics which I loved. The pics on his website seem a bit outdated so don't just go by that - he's definitely one to meet with so you can see his work up close! I think in the GTA he's one of the top few desi photographers. The other really good one seems to be G & H judging by her blog. I'm also a fan of Amna Hakim but I recently met her at a wedding show and her prices seem too high (~5000 for one day!). Kuljit's package was around $4300 for 3 day coverage and he gives you all the unmarked pics included in his package!

Noor, we checked a few photographers so far. We really liked Live Pixels (http://www.livepixelsphotography.com/) and Stephen Sager (http://www.sagerweddings.com/index2.php) so far. Phototerra (International Award-Winning Photographers - Phototerra Studio) were good also but overpriced. We’re going to go see Ikonica (http://www.ikonica.ca/) soon too. So many great photographers out there - it’s so hard to choose! We want to get a photographer we really love and get someone really cheap for the video (just get raw coverage and get it edited later). U’re right Life images look good too but very pricey. We want to book our photographer in about a week. Noor - when are you getting married? Also, do you mind sharing your back up videographer info? Is this a referral?
Re: Best Wedding Photographer/Videography in Toronto, Markham, MIssiauga, Brampton, e
I’m getting married next summer in July, InshAllah
Also, check out http://designsenses.com/index.html
His name is Dave - I have worked with him twice on photoshoots…he’s an absolute pleasure to work with & his he is VERY knowledgable. His website is a little outdated but his style is very fresh. If you decide to do a consulation with him, do let him know I referred you
I will PM you the videographer information once I get it from my sister (she used him for her wedding just last week)
Re: Best Wedding Photographer/Videography in Toronto, Markham, MIssiauga, Brampton, e
Stephen Sager's pics are good. From what I've seen its mainly posed stuff with a few candids which works out well if those are your requirements. So he does what he does very well, but its not really very creative/candid/documentary style photos. As well, he doesn't seem to have a second shooter and I find that isn't acceptable these days when almost every good photographer either works in pairs/partnership or brings a second shooter on site to back up. Desi weddings are so big you absolutely need that second photographer to provide coverage. He's really patient though with the whole desi habit of every single family climbing up on stage for a picture with the couple, which is great.
