Re: Best deal you scored this shopping season.
I got a 3 month Xbox Live Subscription for $13 from Amazon. Yep, that’s a great deal.

Re: Best deal you scored this shopping season.
idk if anyone knows (or is interested) but SDM has Revlon Lip Butters for 4.99. That’s like 50% of it’s regular price. That’s a deal my friends
(yes, I bought like 3 of them. I want more)
Re: Best deal you scored this shopping season.
OP oil stocks back to the recent lows after brief recovery. Starting to get interested. BP Rds.a have 6 pct yield. Even if di idends cut by half still good.
Jeremy Siegel was trolling today - stating where else we put money other than stock mkt. Shiller was his wishy washy stuff. Not even suggesting to rebalance. Let alone decrease stock allocation.
Re: Best deal you scored this shopping season.
No recovery in sight for oil in recent future, stay away from hogging too much crude.
Re: Best deal you scored this shopping season.
Don’t you think for a long term investor, this may be a good time to start nibbling in oil stocks? Would you rather buy assets when their price already reflects a rosy future. Or would you prefer they get beaten down due to lower prospects.
In the former case, even if the rosy scenario materializes, it is baked into the price. While in the later case, as the picture improves, that will reflect in price appreciation.
Re: Best deal you scored this shopping season.
True, it is most profitable to buy at bottom, but no one knows how further down its gonna go. So people like me with limited resources who seek to mitigate risks buy on a rising trend. Furthermore, a medium-long term (five year) investment in oil is equivalent to trapping your liquidity, which you can’t shed before the US has dumped enough oil causing a havoc in middle-east, another arab-spring or perhaps at least dissolution of OPEC cartel
Re: Best deal you scored this shopping season.
No one knows how far anything is going to go up or down. Buying on an up trend doesn’t mitigate risk. Because no one knows how long any trend lasts. In fact, by the time a trend is spotted, it is already reflected in asset price.
You aren’t “trapping your liquidity for 5 years”. You are simply picking up assets at fair value. Or maybe slightly undervalued assets. That Pay a juicy dividend.
At least they make the shopping list for the Christmas season!
Note that I am not advocating one should go out and buy sticks without doing homework. But do they make my shopping list? Yes. I have them in the shopping cart. But may not go to check out aisle until prices drop another 10%
Re: Best deal you scored this shopping season.
remind me to take 101 lessons on stocks from you before i throw all my cash at the stock market..
Re: Best deal you scored this shopping season.
Please consider this a reminder.
Re: Best deal you scored this shopping season.
owsh, thanks. so when can we start/
Re: Best deal you scored this shopping season.
During our next scheduled chat session.
Or maybe at the UK GupShup meetup.
Re: Best deal you scored this shopping season.
hahha, we both know, non of these will happen.
Re: Best deal you scored this shopping season.
Back on topic. What else on shopping list. Only 2 weeks left.
(Yesterday some bargains were tossed around, Ethan. But you stay away from them, you hear?)
Re: Best deal you scored this shopping season.
Did the first Christmas shopping. Bought me some TOT . Beaten down. 6 plus pct dividend yield. Hold long term. And don’t care where price goes.(or buy more if goes down)
Next on list - royal dutch shell, BP COP
Re: Best deal you scored this shopping season.
Ok. Moved to the next on the list - Royal Dutch Shell. 6.2 pct yield.
Also oifu got me a pair of Rockport shoes. She refused to go anywhere with me on an old pair of shoes that were torn every which way.
Showed off my shoes at work today.
Re: Best deal you scored this shopping season.
Last two days rds.a up 3 pct and 4.5 pct. So total abt 8 pct in 2 days. Tot also up nicely.
Each was giving 6.1 to 6.2 pct.yld.
Now no way can one predict that the stocks would not have gone down. But if u r long term investor, buying good stocks AFTER they have dropped DECREASES your risk
Re: Best deal you scored this shopping season.
i hear you loud and clear.
Re: Best deal you scored this shopping season.
If you couldn’t, I would have stopped by the chat room to ensure you could.
Re: Best deal you scored this shopping season.
The shopping went well. TOT up 6.6 pct from Dec 12 price. Plus 6 pct yield. Up abt 11 pct from low set Dec 16
Rds.a up 9 pct since Dec 15. Plus 6 pct yield. Up abt 11 pct from Dec 16 low
But Santa took away gifts too early. Oil stocks partially rebounded - short covering they say. BP and COP up 12 and 16 pct.feom Dec 16.
Santa also preaches patience. Wait for the next sale.
Re: Best deal you scored this shopping season.
