With the mkt at nosebleed levels, I have to confess I did bit more than rebalance. Actually decreased stock allocation from 75 to 65 pct. Not recommended - this kind of timing. But the CAPE ratio is 2nd highest in history. The highest being the crazy tech bubble of 2000.
Shopping season was just coincidence.
I commend your vision to open this thread at this crucial juncture - a turning point, if you will - in the market. What better way to demonstrate to shopping philes that what applies to retail goods applies to individual stocks. And t9 the market as a whole.
Imagine you bought 100 Gucci bag in March 2009.for.675 each As of Nov 26 2014, that bag was worth 2071. Would you not sell some of those Gucci bags and book profits? Or use proceeds to buy jewelry from Zales, which in the same period hypothetically dropped from 2071 to 675 per piece?

i booked India’s one of the most luxury train trips for our honeymoon at 25% less. i always planned to take the 7-day train trip. we do sightseeing by the day and travel by the night. i was willing to pay the full price but the discount [a rarity in India and on Indian Railways] came along as a nice gift.
this train will take us to Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and ChittaurgaRh in Rajasthan and to the Taj in Agra in U.P. looking forward to this one of a kind luxury trip and that too with my brand new wife!

This shopping season none so far. But last one, right on the new year eve I went to Honda dealership. I was the last and only customer and pocketed honda accord 2014 LX for 99$ lease with 2500 down that included taxes and everything. Not bad?

I bought two shirts that were about a $100 for less than $50..one from Winners and one from RW&CO. I have a rule: don’t buy shirt more than $50. its extravagant.
I don’t even need new shirts :-\

That reminds me, here in Georgia, you get enough rebates on Nissan Leaf that if you lease it for 2 years, it is practically free. All you pay for is the electricity you use to charge the car.

Today the market was down and judging by the retail numbers it will prolly go lower tomorrow. Could be the end of the bull market we’ve seen since start of 2014.
