Its because when you get to know too much about someone, you start loving them. We do love our same gender friends. So this also happens when we become friends with opposite gender and get to know them much. If we get along with them well, we get attarcted to them which turns into love interest which can be one sided or two sided. Remember Jaanay tu ya jaanay na movie :p

Can you describe here ATTRACTIVE term? Attractive in nature or attractive in looks or attractive in some other way?? I am really curious to know.
No matter how you differentiate your male and female friends by your behavior but still friendships with opposite gender end on something more than friendship thing. I am really confused???

We can find anyone attractive because of their looks and/ or their nature, way of talking, behaviour towards us and/ or with others. We can like anyone because of any reason... or without any reason. Its just that we start liking them. Its ridicuolous though :p

Those who pretend to have so called platonic relation or friendship either fool others or get surprised big time trying to fool themselves.
Unless off course something wrong with one person or other.
Sorry bhaiya but I believe otherwise.. those that think platonic relationships/friendships are impossible have issues themselves. I've got male friends at work, outside work.. and GS as well. I don't have a crush on them..and they don't either.. there's no 'pretending' to it either. They aren't gay too (before you go there.) Your post only means that any female you befriend you'll end-up falling for...

yeah okay.... so I guess as long as you're not attracted to them physically [even if they are very good looking etc] it's possible to be just a friend with them.
I don't know....may be some people find it very hard to be friend with a drop dead gorgeous and trying not to take it to the next level.

I think it's def. possible to be really good friends with guys and not want to get in each others' pants. On most occasions, I've found my guy friends to be a lot more entertaining to be around

The difference is what constitute friendship. Being acquaintance is different than being close friend.
There is always a potential in latter.

Agreed here. If you have close friendship with opposite gender, you will end up on love or crush type of things or at least one party will end up on love or crush.
