His story was based on a fact.. they needed to plug that hole in Dubya's record so Dan Rather took the fall.. he knew he was gonna retire anyway..and the chapter was forever closed..

Notice that Kaleem doesn't make any claims. He just makes comments about your theories and tells you to prove a negative. He never said Bush served in National Guard or didn't serve. He just said 'remember Dan Rather'. :D

I am not stating he dodged the draft. I am saying that he stayed away from vietnam, which is a fact. that he was ‘protecting’ a backwater state is also a fact.
so when I say that he never even was in a position to win the highest honors, I am factually correct.

Of course, he did not serve in Vietnam, every one knows that. Why he did not serve... is another story. The fact is that dems were willing to vote for self confessed "baby killer" who threw away his medals and I was not.

Bush and every other neocon I can think of dodged the draft and/or avoided combat. They just like sending others to their death to fight their wars. I live in Alabama and have talked to people with first hand knowledge of his awol status, partying and drug use. So I don't need Rather or anyone else to tell me the truth. The actual urban myth was created by the GOP machine that those things didn't take place.
I would have voted for virtually anybody that wasn't Bush in 2004, even though Kerry isn't the ideal president either. But by that point Bush had proven his dishonesty, divisiveness, incompetency and the innate ability to take this country to hell in a handbasket.
I was convinced in 2000 (and even more so now) that Gore would have been a much better president.

I admire Kerry for his bravery, defense of his country, saving his brothers AND having the balls to come back home and tell everyone what a messed up war the politicians were trying to wage.

He would have definitely addressed it which would be much more of an accomplishment than anything Bush has done. It wasn't until the past year (and many GOP still don't believe) that humans may be a factor global warming. Go ahead and laugh, but if man doesn't destroy himself in the next 100 years, global warming will.
Bush's policies to address perhaps the biggest threat to our existence have gone in the exact opposite direction. Just one more of his colossal failures.

I'm not getting into the global warming debate. That's like trying to convince someone the sky is blue. Go watch Gore's movie for an education, I don't have time to educate you. The fact is that you cannot defend hypocrits and bunch of wolves in sheep skin. You do not have facts to support their irrational arguments.
As far as global warming is concerned, a tiny portion may have been caused by the humans, however, teh fact remains that the planet went through the similar cycle without the humans. I dont need to watch "stiff's" movie to know that. Since, when did he become an expert on this subject anyway? He is just another lost, bleeding heart liberal who cannot get over his defeat.

Tell me, during those other 'normal cycles', how many hundreds of millions of acres of rainforests were destroyed? What percentage of old forests? How many millions of square miles of land were covered with asphalt? How many trillions of tons of C02 were released into the atmosphere?
Dude, you and Bush are on the wrong side of this arguement. There are thousands of scientists, any one of them 10 times smarter than Bush, who have come to the conlcusion that man has sped up the warming process.
Gore was studying this while W was still partying and dodging, living off daddy's name and money.

Kaleem, you have that same 'stay the course' mindset as Bush and you've seen where that has brought him, take a time out. Maybe those scientists who have spent decades of their lives studying the earth, it's weather patterns, and effects of gases on the atmosphere should be allowed to report openly of what they think is happening instead of shutting them out (as the Bush admin did). Or you to can be like Bush, and stay the course, don't expect anyone to follow you though.
