Re: Bad experiences with designers- share your story here!
well guys my best freind was getting married so we both flew from canada to lahore to get her stuff, because she didnt know much abt lahore cause she snto from there an i am... so we went to a LOTTTTTT of designers almost every single big one to check ut the variety they had... over all i would say the best customer service would be from maria B. the girls working there were absolutely amazing! the minute u walk into the bridal section they treat u like u r royalty, they were soo down to earth and soo freindly and talktive they made feel soo comforatlbe! we were there for about 2 hours discussing everything for her bridal and mendhi outfits n valima n not once did they complain abt anything it was such an amazing experince, n they even offered us snacks and chai and everything! my freind was soo happy she ordered 10 things from her!
when we went with karma we didnt have an appointment n when we asked the lady at the reception if we can see bridal things, she looked at us liek we were her servants n was like Sighhhh okay fine... the whoel tiem she was showing us things it was liek shes doign us a favour, we were there for litreally 10 mins n we left, cause they were soo damn ungrateful...
when i went to hsy to get a few formal outfits for myself, they were extrmelyy happy, n very freindly, n ver polite and helpful, both over the phone n via email.. i am ordering 2 more outfits from there via email , and they respond in hours they are soo damn reliable...
also i went with my cousin to bunto and she was soo damn nice and soo friendly and vey very professional.. it may have been cause we know her as well , but i saw how she was treating other clinets as well n shes extremely good with her customers...
as for nomi ansari n umar sayeed, firsntly the attitude they have is unbeliavle... by looking at them ata first glance they dont even look like designers! my chapraasi who cleans my house is betet rlooking n behaved them them, n they r both soo uglyy, n thier ugliness is represtned int hier personality as well! they r both very good, but they pretned they r freaking valentino and gucci! for god sakes no one but pakistanis know who the hell they r, to the otutside world they r unknown!

I did not know that about Umar Sayeed, i always had a image that he actually was a nice guy?!
What email are you mailing HSY people? coz i have been mailing them, and havent recieved any reply yet !!
I know about karma myself, they are not good with customerservice !
i had a very bad experience with them myself !!
errrrr
Hasan Sheheryar Yasin (HSY) is by far one of the WORST, most unprofessional designers I have seen in my life. I had placed an order for a suit at the store called 'The Designers' in Karachi where his stuff is also carried. I picked out his orange and yellow peshwaz suit but I placed an order and paid extra to get an ajaar pajama, to decrease the size of the neckline (it was huge as usual) and to get it fitted according to my measurements. This order was placed in NOVEMBER, and after being delayed twice and numerous phone calls to the boutique I finally discovered that it had arrived. The jora was NOTHING like the one I had ordered, the neckline is still huge, and the delicate embroidered flowers all over the kameez had been replaced by ugly sequined paisleys. You could tell they were put there to save money and made the whole suit look ugly. There was a bow from the neckline that was missing, there was no ajaar pajama, in fact the pajama that was given was even shorter and thinner than the one I had originally seen, and they had placed two slits on either side of the kameez, therefore ruining the peshwaaz look. After arguing with the workers at the boutique 'Designers', especially the horrible salesperson there called "Neeli", we finally convinced them to dig out the original receipt in which my measurements and adjustments had originally been noted. In the end, I was proven right as all the things I had asked for were in fact written there. Now, I am totally fed up of all this and dont have time to have this jora made again. But the extremely "professional" people at The Designers in Karachi are refusing to give me back my refund! They had taken Rs. 6000 as an advance and are refusing to pay it back. After lots of arguing back and forth and wasting hours of our time, they proceeded to tell us that if they manage to sell this jora, they will give me back my 6000 rupees, otherwise I can just sit at home and wait till it does! OR, I can buy another jora, therefore making HSY even more rich, in return for HIM messing up my suit and his WORKERS treating me like crap! So heed my warning girls and boys - STAY AWAY FROM HSY! He is completely unprofessional, doesn't care about his customers and the service at the so-called boutique 'The Designers' is horrible, especially the main person there 'Neeli', who starts shouting like a fisherwoman every time you discuss something with her. I'm never going back!
that really sucks!!! i'm sorry :/
WHEN will pakistani designers learn about customer service??? sigh.
stoppit, they might stock it, but i think when you place an order, the designer fulfills it. or at least thats how i would think it works, especially for a custom order, otherwise its not really a designer jora, its just from The Designers (the store).
^ Agreed. At the end of the day it's the designer that has full control over the outcome, not the retailer. During their Quality Control Inspection (I'm assuming that they have such a process in place) HSY's team should have picked up on the errors.
Giigles, you might want to contact HSY directly and bring up your concern. A good busniess will always want to make the client happy and they may be able to offer you a more favourable alternative.

Yea, but I mean, isn't it "The Designers" responsibility to make sure the order is placed correctly (the designer knows exactly what modifications to make etc)?
And if it comes back to them not as per the original order, isn't it their job to sort that out with the designer (HSY) before it gets to the client?
To me, it sounds like they didn't even realise that it hadn't come back as the customer had ordered it, who knows if they even passed on the correct modification information to HSY?
I'm confused. Don't "The Designers" just stock outfits from various designers? Sounds like a mess up on their part.
Hi stoppit, yes they do, but the dress I had purchased wasn't from the ready-to-wear rack, its a couture outfit which means that they are made to order. Plus, with all the adjustments and alterations made to the suit, it was completely stitched from scratch. My complaint is that - why is there no system of quality control? Didn't anyone see the suit before it actually left the warehouse, and go like, "Hmmm, that looks nothing like what we design?" Or are the workers at HSY allowed to adjust the kaam and embroidery on outfits as they see fit? And why is there absolutely NO system of being able to report any customer service concerns? The only people that were available to me to deal with were the girls working in the store that just kept looking at each other and shrugging their shoulders. At my insistence, they finally brought out the "manager" Neeli, who was basically an old aunty who was incredibly rude and pretty much just told us to leave the store! Ugh!

The thing that bugs me is, if the jora was still the same, just not altered, maybe I wouldn't have been so irritated. Hell, I would just have taken it over to my tailor and paid Rs 500 extra to have it altered myself. What made me angry was that the jora actually came back UGLIER than before!! One buys designer clothes for the premium quality, otherwise why couldn't I just go over to Gulf Market and buy suits from the workers there? God knows they need the money much more than that arrogant peacock HSY, and they are much more kind and humble and have better people skills because they are actually grateful for their customers. Why should I pay Rs. 20,000 for an ugly, cheap quality suit that I had to argue over with 5 women and finally get kicked out of a store?!!
^I see. I 100% agree about the quality control but it still seems to me like it's "The Designers" responsibility that it comes back how you expect since you are placing the order through them. They should be the ones doing the QA and everything else on your behalf really. Otherwise why should anyone order through them, customers can go to the designer directly.
As others have said, I would contact HSY and explain the situation to whoever deals with customer service etc.
instead of asking for a refund (since 99% of the time, refunds are not available), have you tried asking them to make it again, as per the original order? if so, what has their response been?
i agree with stoppit. seems to be the retailers lack of CS and initiative. if u havent asked them to make it again yet, try that and see waht they say. if they refuse, contact hsy directly, and see what they say.
i don't like hsy either!
he has his own website.and my friend actually requested a price for a few of his dresses from his website. and no one ever replied!!!...if this is how you will treat your potential customers then who will come to you!
i hate that man!
he has no respect for customers...
and then i requested for a price from his facebook page and no one ever replied back AGAIN!! even though he come on it himself to update a few things...
i will never ever buy anything from him!!
why should i support someone by buying their product if they don't care about their customer!!!
:P
ya lets see some pics. i agree fully with stoppit, it defintely sounds like the store's fault. i have been to 'the designers' they sell off the rack pret outfits of designers, from the last time i was there they were not taking couture orders, they only do minor sizing alterations. i had asked for changes in an outfit (in the quantity of the kaam) and they asked me to contact the designer directly for made to order outfits. its definitely the boutique's fault for not following thru your order.
