cherry, are you in Canada? does it make a difference in Canada as well which med school or law school you go to? I was under the impression that it didn't matter as much in Canada as the US - at least for these two fields. after all, there's what 12-13 med and law schools in the country, aren't there? I thought how you did in school in terms of marks, etc mattered more for top law internships or top residencies than did the name of the school in Canada - for medicine and law... please enlighten me.
Off topic but the system in the UK is similar. There are just a handful of medical schools and the standard is the same throughout. BUT much later down the line when you're competing for a job as a consultant, it does matter where you studied if for example, the right people you need to know are all oxbridge graduates. Rather a lot of the "old boys club" my dear chap.
