At what age.....

was your baby when you moved him/her into their own room. My daughter is now 14months and i will be moving her into her own bedroom. Is this too young?

Re: At what age.....

Ruby, i would say it's a personal choice, but you should have a monitor in her room at 14 months. Mine is going to be 4 yrs this september and we still co-sleep :)

Re: At what age.....

About 6 months.

man ur sex life must suck.

How could you have a watch on her??

Re: At what age.....

when she was 7 months.. but she was sleeping in her own bassient from 5 weeks.

We have a monitor. She sleeps through the night. She slept in her own bassinet in our room until she got too big for it. Then we started the crib in her own room around six months. She's not at all bothered. Most of the time I wake up to the sounds of her playing in her crib.

Re: At what age.....

i was thinking of doing the same thing and placing a monitor in the room. the only thing is she still gets up in the night, once, and i give her milk then she sleeps but sometimes she'l stay up, thats why i want to move her to her own room so she isnt disturbed in the nite, by my hubbys snoring, hehe

Re: At what age.....

^ Right now does she sleep in a bassinet or in your bed?

she sleeps in her own cot and has been since she was born. she likes her own cot which is why im thinkin of moving her into the other room.

the problem i have is when she wakes up in the nite i feed her and then leave her to it and she plays/jumps and winges in the cot but i dont spend 2 hours rockin her, i only pick her up when shes ready to sleep again, and that is normally 2 hours later. this episodes dont happen often, but they do happen no and again.

so if im in the other room and not where she can see me i dont know how she mite behave and the last thing i want is to have to drag the cot back into our room

Re: At what age.....

It's worth a try.

We have a video monitor, but it's not necessary.

Re: At what age…

I want to move her to the other room before her first birthday…the husband is totally against it…
:bummer:

Re: At what age.....

^ try the video monitor. good peace of mind.

Re: At what age…

^^Or better yet, the daddy can move with the baby…:hmmm:

Re: At what age.....

Our daughter was moved to her room on day 2.

Re: At what age.....

I got my own room when i was 7. :)

Re: At what age.....

6months or 8mnths is a good time..
if children wake up on you having sex, they can develop some real psycho probs :O

Re: At what age.....

I think 6-8 months is good age. I hated (and hubby loved )the fact that my son slept in our bed till he was about 1, we tried to get him use to his own crib, he would not sleep, we tried everything.
Usually it is good for both parents and kids to have kids moved to their own bedroom as soon as they start sleeping through the night, because you don't want back and forth prade at night(as I did for couple of months and got even more tired and eventually gave up)
good luck..

my husband’s brother has 2 daughters 6 and 3 both sleep with parents IMO no good…:nono:

^My BIL bought a freaking huge mansion around the time when second daughter was born, unless space is an issue or some other ‘real’ parental issue, like child’s health etc, kids should sleep in their own bedrooms, it helps kids get better sleep and have a sense of theri own space.

Re: At what age.....

6 months... he grew too big for the bassinet .. was sleeping through the night.. so kicked him out to his own room in his big crib... he would sometimes wake up once in the night .. would just go and feed him there .. had a recliner put in the room... he would go back to sleep and i would come back to our room... he sleeps better alone... way better.
