I wear whatever I feel good in...who cares about them...sure.....but..when you are going to a shadi....(or part of one) where half the town is showing up..i am not going to prance around wearing an artificial set from anarkali.....
I know someone who had bought small gold set for their daughter-in-law & pay for it but keep it with the jeweller, & instead of that set they borrow another big set for wearing on Barat/Walima day, & after wearing it on the functions they return the big set back to the shop & took their small set. so the bride was wearing a very heavy real gold set on wedding+saving money & buying a more stylish small set 4 wearing even afterwards.

that's actually a really good idea. But I think you would have to know the jeweller for a long time or they won't really let you borrow.

yes I think so.. but theres another idea that u can keep ur old real gold jewellery (same weight) with the jeweller & borrow a new set instead, or u can go to ur family jeweller or can take help of ur aunts & cousins etc & go to their jewellers.
my sister in law for her wedding bought a gold set and rented out the matchng jumar and tikka. like they paid maybe 10% of what it actually cost to wear during the nikkah etc then just gave it back once she was done with them. kinda makes sense really, the one we bought her for the walima was with tikka jhumar etc but shes never worn the jhumar again, seems like a waste of money really. shes thinking of selling the gold next time she goes to pak and getting something else made from it instead. i liked the renting it out idea but i giess not all jewlers are that trusting, i think they had other sets still with himw hich were worth more thant he jumar so he knew he wouldnt make a loss either way...
I can't believe tat I am saying this but now a day the price tag of artificial is so high that actually it no loger make sense to buy artificial anymore. Also the craftman ship is just poor for these ready made sets you get from pace or liberty..very very cheap looking even if you have shell some serious dough on it. I do not know about the designers may be their stuff looks better...but seriously gold will most probably appreciatet with time where as artificial will get rusty. Kundan is a beautiful and classical option for budget conscious people.
i dunno it sounds like an okay idea but if i were to wear a really nice huge set on my valima only to give it back and get something tiny in return, i’d be pretty teed off. But thats cz i like big big things…

Theres a dukaan in Moon Market that does artificial jewlery which look like theyre 22k gold. they have really nice designs. I dont know the name of the shop but you can ask around and they'll tell you! good luck :)
Re: which shop in lahore is best 4 artificial jewllery?
it cost us 6500rs ! city towers is on the main boulevard gulberg..opposite auriga centre.there are 2-3 shops for artificial bridal jewellery. we opted for it cuz there is no point in making huge ones for just one day. my SIL has made 5 small gold ones with different coloured stones maching to her outfits which is i think really wise of her !
